I understand what you mean in terms of timing; 30 years ago muni workers were generally paid less than private sector counterparts. Now they are the upper middle class (at least here in the northeast); the fields are flooded (everybody wants on the gravy train), and people who expected the easy ride are finding themselves unable to get hired.
Again, I wish them the best of luck. I’m not the healthiest person, but I’m young enough so that I’m not taking medications. I can’t imagine dealing with the costs you outline...
