Naftali Bennett Physically Attacked at 'Peace Conference'

The Minister of Economics, Jewish Home Chairman Naftali Bennett, was verbally and physically assaulted Tuesday in the course of the Peace Conference sponsored by ultra-leftist newspaper Haaretz.

Bennett was one of the few speakers invited to the conference from outside of the political left. When he walked up on the stage, boos and catcalls of “fascist” and “murderer” were heard from the audience.

Additionally, cries of "Mohammed Abu Khder's blood is on your hands" were heard, a reference to the 16-year-old Arab youth found murdered last Wednesday.

.....

The Jewish Home leader used a phrase familiar to smartphone GPS users when he asked rhetorically if it was not time for the left wing to “recalculate its route.” He insisted that he, too, wants “to present a vision of peace” – on the condition that it be a true peace.

"The Jewish people and the state of Israel do not want war,” he explained. “Someone here said, with chutzpah, 'you do.' To my regret, I fought in the first intifada, the second one and the Second Lebanon War. No one in this room can moralize to me about wanting peace. No one in the state of Israel wants peace more than I do.”

At the end of the speech, as Bennett got down off the stage, a group of roughly 20 to 30 youths tried to physically attack him. One of them succeeded in reaching him and punching him in the back.

Bennett no sooner spun around and said "who hit me?" than he was whisked away from the scene by security.

Hippie peaceniks are the same all over the world. Calling for sacrifices for their gruesome peace idol and assaulting those who oppose their...true religion.

Weren't the gas chambers peaceful? No shooting there or even much hysterical screaming. The evil absurdity of the peace god.

Evil should be fought -- especially when the evil calls for one's murder. This should be done even if it violates the feelings of the peace god or peace process god.

That is how the left defines “peace”, as well as co-exist, civility, tolerance, and the list could go on and on.

You can't fight in here! This is the War Room!

But, all seriousness aside, why is it that so many in the "Peace Movement" seem to be so violent? (rhetorical question only - I know that the literal answer is that many or most of them are not interested in "Peace" at all, rather it is just another leftist lie and pretext, just as the National Organization for Women is not particularly interested in helping "women", rather it is just another Commie front organization that is for whatever advances their true ugly agenda.

Bump (not literally) for Naftali. He has turned out better than Netanyahu.

We all say its going to happen soon - but when Israel does unleash the can of whoop, its going to get gnarly.

Oh, but they ARE for peace. By their definition.

Marx defined peace as "the absence of opposition to socialism". THAT is the peace they are for.

He hasn’t turned out yet. When he’s PM and he resists all the international pressure, then he’s turned out good.

Begin was on a par with George Washington as a founder and great revolutionary fighter. But when he came to office, there went the Sinai. Ariel Sharon was a hard-liner’s hard-liner ‘til his son got caught as bag man, and he had to cut a deal with the left. There went Ghaza and parts of Samaria. Bibi was the brother of Yoni, the KIA leader of the Entebbe raid. He comes to power, and there went most of Hebron. In power again, and there went the little outposts. All the big concession makers have been right-wing hard-liners. But who built Kiryat Arba? Shimon Peres. Which party was in power during the six-day war? Mapai.

I’ll reserve judgment on Bennet as well as Feiglin, but I hope they oust Bibi and form the government soon, so that I can test whether or not they turn out good.
