Stunning: California Couple Says They Were Asked to House Immigrant Children
Rush Limbaugh Show Transcript ^ | July 8, 2014 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: This is Ann and Ed in Southern California. Welcome. It's great to have you on the phone. Hello.

ANN: Hello.

RUSH: Hi.

ANN: Hi, Rush. How are you?

RUSH: Just fine. Thank you very much.

ANN: Great. Well, we have some interesting news. My husband Eddie is on the phone with us. We live in Southern California, and we're Catholic, active Catholics in our community, and there was a town hall meeting last evening, emergency meeting called by our local parish priest, ordered by our bishop (unintelligible) and the Archdiocese of San Bernardino. They have made the decision that they're going to absorb the immigrants that are coming through because the federal government called the bishop's office on Monday and they're gonna be busing these immigrants to our communities and asking us to open our homes and to house them for up to a month. The church will reimburse us for any out-of-pocket expenses and we were told not to talk to anybody about it, especially the media. I'm not especially happy about it. My husband is a retired doctor, and he will share his concerns with you regarding this matter. Eddie, do you want to go ahead and talk about your thoughts?

Baptist Brownshirts guarding illegal children in Texas. Catholic Church housing illegals on government money. Separation of church and state is but a memory.

That’s cult thinking right there.

I call it “Liberal-Sheep” think. Any other opinion would be racist.

So - what if this is true about many of these kids being tied to cartels & muderous gangs.
Is it really “social justice” to request that Catholics place themselves and their families in danger?

And what will the Church say if these “children” start injuring and killing people?

I’m sure she’s already volunteered her humble abode to house some of the MS-13 club members. It’s just a service club right?

I wonder how many the bishop will house. they usually have good size houses to live in...Any parist priest that presses this should be able to take in 2 or 3. Most parish priests homes are also not hovels, but lovely places...Let them all lead by doing it themselves...

Yeah, if you call one room with a bed, night stand and chair a "lovely place".

You haven't been in many parish homes have you..What you are describing is a monastery cell for monks and cloistered nuns. To what you stated you could add a crucifix..

While I don’t like religions, or nonreligions, pro-ILLEGAL immigration positions, even Glen Beck was saying we need to be compassionate to them. I think he meant the children.

Of course, we know they are not all children.

Are they given a choice?

I might consider taking in small children, but not an adult.

No, our parish priests live in such a room, with others adjoining. No monks or cloistered nuns in the diocese.

Thanks for the info..

I heard they are going to build a fence around one of the buildings where they will place the immigrants. This from the people who won’t build a fence to protect our borders.

The blog mysteriously ups the ante from 2,000 to 50,000 with no explanation.

Guess I was thinking of the Pope and his anti-capitalist rants. Rubs me the wrong way.

Me too! I pray for the Holy Father's intentions, not necessarily agreeing with him on the best means of achieving them.

Do they have a kitchen, dining area, office, sitting rooms for visitors. I Have been in several rectories and one I know of even has his own chapel. The other is in an old Victorian home, the parish when I had the farm was modest but nothing like you state....It housed at least 3 bedrooms, a nice kitchen etc. I know of one that even has his own cook....you should get out more. But if your parish priest lives in such simplicity, good for him, its admirable...But I will give you a fact that you may not know. Rectories belong to the church and not the priest. He lives in what the church provides..

But for me, the best way to get in touch with God was on several silent week end retreats. At the Dominican mother house in Michigan. Those nuns could cook like angels and no talking at dinner either...a nun would sit in the front and read from scripture...The stations of the cross were on a path that lead through the woods and other places outside for silent meditation...We that were on retreat slept in the kind of cells you describe that your priest lives in, but the rest of the retreat house were lovely, with libraries that had only spiritual books and lives of the Saints. One year it was not a silent retreat and that was the last one I went to. Hard to meditate when others are talking about none spiritual gossip....Not all, but enough to distract you.....
