Donor Controversies Hit ‘Mississippi Conservatives’
American Spectator ^ | July 8, 2014 | Jeffrey Lord

The headline in the New York Times over the weekend was straightforward: “Unease in G.O.P. Over Mississippi Tea Party Anger”:

The stormy aftermath of Mississippi’s Republican Senate runoff has sent Tea Party conservatives around the country to the ramparts, raising the prospect of a prolonged battle that holds the potential to depress conservative turnout in November in Mississippi — and possibly beyond.

Well, there’s an understatement. Just last night Texas Senator Ted Cruz was on Mark Levin's show talking about “the D.C. machine” running “false attacks” that were “racially charged” and demanding that allegations of criminal conduct — one man reportedly told Charles C. Johnson that Cochran paid him to buy votes — be “vigorously investigated.” There should be “unease” in the Republican Party, as more and more of the base becomes aware of just how cynical GOP leadership has become, and as the curtain continues to be pulled up on all the shenanigans in Mississippi.

At the story’s center is the Mississippi Conservatives PAC, which is on the receiving end of furious charges of race-baiting against insurgent candidate Chris McDaniel and the Tea Party as a whole. But an even bigger problem comes from evidence that the group calling itself Mississippi Conservatives was anything but, illustrating in stunning detail how the establishments and donors of the Republican and Democratic parties intermingle.

A huge problem is a lot of people are giving money to groups such as “Mississippi Conservatives” and the Republican Senate Committee, thinking it’s going to fight the good fight. Instead, it’s going to prop up the sleazes and their techniques. The answer, with the exception of Numbers USA is to donate to candidates, not groups.

Evidently a rewrite of a previous article. Not sure of the back story on that.

I agree with you 100%. A 'pub majority in the US Senate that is dominated by RINOs will backstab conservatives and fight conservatives instead of dems. They're doing it now. I'd much rather have a leaner, focused, constitutional conservative minority in the US Senate which would articulate our vision for saving the US and work with the HOR.

Has the NRA commented on thad taking $500,000 from the gun grabbers bloomberg and palmer? Has the NRA explained why thad gets an A+ rating despite his vote on joe biden’s bill to ban “assault” rifles?

"Cochran has an A+ NRA rating"

The NRA also supported Mitch McConnell in the KY primary. The NRA has become too political with its support of, so called, GOP leadership candidates.

Cochran has shown himself to be an enthusiastic participant in the pay to play operations of influence peddling over the years. His growing dementia and the possibility that he might be the Chairman of the Appropriations Committee should the Republicans gain control of the Senate means that Cochran can throw off any pretense of representing the people of Mississippi and go all in for those whom have paid good money to get what they want. It just doesn’t get much better than that.

I think technically if the game plan by the Barbour Family is to delay making the Republican Runoff offician until just before the election, then MCDANIEL SHOULD BE DECLARED THE WINNER.

Why?

McDaniel won the valid Republican Primary in early June by a plurality.

The Republican Primary Runoff must be considered at this point invalid.

So if the Barbour folks decide to wait until the last minute, there should be a judicial move NOW TO MAKE THE EARLY JUNE Republican Primary RESULTS THE OFFICIAL RESULTS UNTIL THERE IS A VALID RUNOFF

I think in this case, the Barbour family are the Sore Losers and the Sore Loser Law should apply to them.

Judicial Action needs to start RIGHT NOW!!!

It is rumored the only reason Thad Cochran is running is so that when he wins, he name a BARBOUR FAMILY member to succeed him when he resigns from the Senate just after winning the Election...

The June 3rd Results should be considered the official results (where McDaniel) was the winner until there is a valid Republican Runoff Election.

One can not discuss the SHADY Republican Runoff Election without mentioning the SHADY Barbour family — Haley, Austin, Henry, or other members...

the SHADY Barbour family

That has been looked into in some depth here. This election has basically undressed him. (Sorry for the mental visual.)
