Thanks for the clarification. One thing I heard (on FNC, of course) and/or read on FR (of course), is that many off the kids are being shipped of to fake family members in the US, many of whom are here illegally as well. I also heard someone say on FNC this a.m. that many of the kids say they want to go home to their parents.
I heard mostly of what Rep Labrador (R-ID) said on Meet the Depressed this morning. I think he did a fairly good job, repeating a few times that the kids need to be sent home ot their country of origin and especially making note of the fact that Johnson didn’t answer DNC Dave’s question wrt what are they going to do with all the kids - are they going to send them back. I was a bit surprised that DNC Dave actually said to Johnson, you didn’t answer my question. I think he actually did answer it - he parsed his words and all of us here know that he meant they weren’t going back to their country of origin. I wish Labrador had mentioned how much it was going to cost the taxpayers in each area where these kids are being held and will be shipped.
It’s costing US taxpayers $100-250/day per child (I’m assuming that’s food and healthcare and a place to stay while they’re in detention), plus bus and airfare. Some are being placed into foster families (WHY?? - somewhat rhetorical question), then the state has to cover the stipends, fees, etc. to the foster families. Then there’s court costs (if about 5% of them show up for a hearing), the contract with BCFS to watch the children in detention (I heard the amount we’re paying them this a.m. - it’s astonishing how many employees and how much per employee), etc., etc. And, when they enter school in the Fall, most don’t speak English, so the schools (e.g., taxpayers) will need to absorb the costs for the kids and Spanish & English speaking teachers. As you’ve mentioned on various posts in the past, Cloward-Piven strategy personified!
I’m just sick over all of this. I feel so sorry for those children - taken away from the parents, being exposed to disease, abuse, violence, uncertainty, etc. I like to consider myself a good Christian and, I understand wanting to have a better life for your family and kids and wanting to help those less fortunate, but this whole fiasco is so wrong in so many ways.
We already have many thousands of kids in foster homes or looking for foster homes in this country, many of such homes are abusive, etc., that need to be placed in loving homes. And, I’m not buying the cr*pola that they are running from violence and oppression - - they’ve had violence and oppression in those countries for many years. Are we supposed to take in all the kids from all the countries that have violence and oppression?? What about major parts of Africa, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, China, North Korea, etc., etc.????
Lastly, many of the “kids” aren’t exactly kids - - many are 14-18+. There are also Moms with kids.
Obviously, Obummer decided to go it on his own, circumvent the laws and try to pressure the House to pass Immigration Reform (aka Amnesty) before the Nov elections, which he and they (hopefully) know will kill the Pubbies chance of taking the Senate and possibly even keeping the House. He and the Dims can use the old canard - - it’s for the women and children and Republicans don’t care about them. And, Pelousi and say “we’re all Americans” and Sheila J Lee can continue to take them all lollipops. And, the Border Patrol Agents can continue to change diapers, make sandwiches, buy blankets and toys with their own money, scrub down detention centers, and get scabies and other diseases all the while criminals easily skip through our border.
Apologies for my long rant (it’s not you FRiend). I think I really need to quit reading about it for awhile as I get very angry and frustrated. Gently stepping off my soap box now. Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movie Channel are having Christmas movies all day today and IIRC next weekend. If I’m home this afternoon, I may have to tune in. That and continue to pray.
Agree! Thank goodness Greta has been covering the Marine issue to a fairly great extent and there have been other mentions of it on FNC.
And, Biden was in Central America (and IIRC in Mexico) and Kerrey (who served in Nam, in case you didn’t know) was in Mexico and neither demanded his release. Yet, Mexican helicopters fly over our airspace, shoot at agents and the admin says, no worries, we know it was an accident - carry on.
Until he is released and the border is secure (I’m blending issues here and he needs to come home NOW).
Cut off ALL foreign aid to all the Central American countries, including Mexico
Cut off all remittances by those in the US to all such countries
Send the National Guard (and military, if necessary) to the border
Pass a law to counter the law (IIRC from 2008) that all illegals entering the country, including the kids, will be sent home immediately - no deportation hearings.
Start building the dang fence that was approved during the Bush admin - take money out of the IRS, HHS, and Homeland Security budgets to git ‘er done
Gee, it would really be too bad if one of those choppers were to say...crash and explode...now wouldn't it.

I think you’re spot on as to your analysis.
Letting my feeble mind run, it sure seems to me this administration continues to push us further left regardless of voters wishes. In fact, it seems to be pushing us to the point of possible violence over numerous issues, from illegal immigration to the environment to EPA regulations and even healthcare. It just seems that every time I read the news there’s another issue the Democrats are working to force upon us.
I just hate considering all that but I’m at a loss to explain it otherwise.
