Dear POPVOX Friends,

On behalf of our entire POPVOX Team, I want to wish you a very happy Independence Day, and share some exciting news. The Library of Congress is now archiving POPVOX content -- including your comments to Congress* -- for the official national historical record.

We have been notified by the Library of Congress that POPVOX has been selected for inclusion in the official digital archives of the United States. (The full notice is posted below.) The Library of Congress preserves “the Nation’s cultural artifacts” and “materials of historical importance to the Congress and the American people.” This mission extends to digital materials, and the Library has identified POPVOX as an important part of a collection of materials related to public policy topics and the historical record of the United States.

To all FReepers. Using POPVOX is a quick and easy way to contact your reps. Even if you don't like them. I've been using it for several years and I DO get responses to my voting on certain issues presented on the POPVOX site. Even if it isn't necessarily the response I would like, at least notice is taken. The site needs more folks to participate just like FR needs more folks to participate. Just a heads up. Happy 4th of July.

Glad you use it. I like that you can make a comment or just let POPVOX let the reps know what the “trending” is. Both of my senators have responded to me based on POPVOX input. The dishonorable hairy reid-iculous gave me the same old hairy song and dance.
