The Snowden leak that journalist Glenn Greenwald has described as the biggest story yet was delayed prior to publication this week, after the U.S. government made last-minute claims about the forthcoming disclosure.

I’m patient enough to wait for the disclosure.
If it happened now going into a holiday weekend it would be like a newsdump and the public impact would be lessened.
Snowden and Greenwald are telling us things we need to know about government abuse of our Constitutional rights.\

The NSA has been spying on Americans for years.
But all their electronic surveillance couldn’t locate the thousands of illegal invaders streaming to the USA on the top of freight trains!!!

With all due respect it is probable from given evidence that the Government was responsible for, or at a minimum was in collusion with 3rd parties to create, this latest “crisis” of illegal aliens. In other words the NSA knew all about it.

The “new” revelation is that the NSA scans their bulk intercepts of phone calls for certain spoken keywords...making their program entirely illegal.
However, there has been some non-Snowden-based reporting on the keyword scanning over the years so it isn’t new per se...but the Snowden intel cache is a more reliable source than those who have outed the keyword scanning program in earlier years.
Bill Ayers - the Weather Underground terrorist - the scum of the earth - considers Snowden to be a hero. That should be a caution to all of us about Snowden.
Good Lord, Glenn, how much longer can you milk this? Move On.
A stopped clock is right twice a day. I got zero love for Ayers, but I'm thankful Snowden took the stand he did and made this available. There are pro's and con's about it both, but ultimately, if the FedGov didn't have anything to hide...
I really don't care who supports Snowden. As a previous poster pointed out, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. I also don't particularly care what Snowden's motivations were. Regardless of what they might or might not have been, he's done us all a service.
As long as there was no hard evidence of what our government has been up to (for decades now), all this information is just another conspiracy theory. At the very least, people are now actually actively thinking about how much surveillance we're all under. Personally, I think the government has done far more to undermine the security of the average American than the vast majority are aware of.
Even with the Snowden documents, much of what the government is doing is too technical for people who don't even understand how their own computer works to understand how the government has undermined the security of not only the internet in general, but of their own computers as well. I would be very interested in knowing if the NSA was aware of the Hearbleed problems with SSL, and if so, how long they have known of it.
Those who are attacking Greenwald, and even Snowden...are providing cover for Obama, Holder, etc. Right now I would be a lot more concerned about those two....they will harm us worse than Ayres
Good point... I’ve had mixed feelings about Snowden. It was just a shock to see Bill Ayers refer to him as heroic. Then again, sometimes bad people get things right... I’m waiting to see who is ‘outed’... There’s editing going on - and that will start to tell the story.
I have somewhat mixed feeling about Snowden ... but it was still a shock to hear Ayers say he liked him. My instinct is that Snowden acted on principle... which doesn’t mean he was right - or not misguided. It’s going to take time to figure this one out.
