Education: As we predicted, the Obama regime's anti-suspension policy is backfiring. Los Angeles teachers complain unsuspended violent kids are intimidating them and effectively ruling their classrooms.
In 2011, the Education Department accused the Los Angeles Unified School District of discriminating against black boys, who were suspended for bad behavior at a disproportionate rate. The agency ordered it to reduce suspensions in the hopes that unruly minority students would stay in school and graduate.
"The district shall develop and implement a comprehensive plan to eliminate the disproportionality in the discipline imposed on African-American students," the five-page decree says. The superintendent agreed to "modify its policies, procedures and practices."
Last year, Los Angeles schools became the first in the state to ban "willful defiance" as grounds for suspension. As a result, their overall suspension rate dropped to 1.5% from 8% in 2008.
Instead of being kicked out of school or suffering other serious punishment, even repeat offenders get "restorative justice" therapy.
They can negotiate the consequences for their bad behavior, which usually involves "dialogue sessions," in which teachers join unruly kids in "talking circles" to foster greater "cultural understanding." Talk invariably turns to racism and "white bias." Teachers are trained to make sure black kids "feel respected."
The leftist group that has trained more than 2,000 LAUSD teachers and "restorative justice coordinators" says the program combats bias that contributes to disproportionate discipline.
Of course, it also provides rowdy minorities an excuse for continued bad behavior.
Indeed, the policy has only increased classroom disruptions and threats against students and teachers, just as we predicted in a January piece, "Anti-Discipline Push May Threaten Students."

I was an inmate in the LAUSD many years ago. I can see it hasn’t changed one iota. If we ran club gitmo like we do a typical LA school, we would have the UN threatening sanctions.
Miami-Dade schools also did not wish to discipline African-American students, and gave us Trayvon Martin.

The libs that come up with this have the worst intentions; these blacks are a lucrative source of income to libs (as profiteers of the “poverty industry” - public school employees, politicians, social workers, cops - all of the administration required to run a negro reservation). Many blacks have taken the easy way out (with low expectations) rather than demand to be treated as equals to whites.

It's not only the liberals. Add the GOP into the destruction of the educational system in this country. It seems to me that ANYTHING that the politicians touch, they screw up.
Don’t the particular black people in these schools play any role in their own destinies or are they always just the passive tools, the chess pieces, of whatever group is the designated player of the game at a given time? Don’t these black people themselves make decisions, good ones and bad ones, which affect their own futures, regardless of what nefarious plans any other group may lay for them?
Well, at least the ones they can't abort.

My friend taught in a gang ridden school in the San Gabriel valley, northeast L.A. Those couple of years she was there, she was a broken woman, crying, fearful, unable to function outside of school. And barely, within it. She was threatened with a knife. She was cursed at daily. She could not wear red or blue anything of course. It was a living hell.
I believe this kind of stuff used to happen forever, because I remember a story in the Laura Ingalls Wilder series when her one room schoolhouse and young teacher were threatened by some big dumb bully boys. I believe the menfolk had to come and kick them out of the school.
Obama’s stupid goal of “graduatin” these idiot gang bangers doesn’t work. All it does is severely punish the few kids who truly are there to learn.
OH DEAR GD, PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THE POORER HOODS, STOP HAVING UNPROTECTED SEX. PERIOD. GET OUT OF THE HOOD. THEN MAKE YOUR BABIES.
