I wish Putin DID have obama’s pen!

We’d be spared from all sorts of grief—for example, at our southern border!!!!

Lots of news, pics and vids on Twitter.

RIANovosti is reporting that two Russian Border posts have been closed, and withdrawn from, due to fighting on the UK side of the line.
https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=ru&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fria.ru%2Fworld%2F20140701%2F1014243514.html&edit-text=&act=url

Twitter reports of a National Guard battalion walking into a big ambush near Rubezhnoye. Many UK casualties reported.

Lots of tweets coming in, but all say pretty much the same thing, heavy fighting, especially around Slovyansk and Kramatorsk, where the situation is very unclear.

Numerous videos on Twitter and Youtube showing fighting around Kramatorsk, and heavy shelling by the Kiev troops of the city center, including an American Journo that came under mortar fire. An apparent push from the airport into the city got bloodied.

The heaviest fighting seems to be on a line from Slovyansk to north of Lugansk, with a push by the Dnepro units around Donetsk.

Russian REN-TV Journalist Denis Kulaga was injured at the Ukrainian-Russian border near Donetsk-Izvarino, per Twitter.

2 SU-25’s shot down near Slovyansk.
Rebels reporting at least 100 civilians killed by overnight shelling.

Strelkov’s Sloviansk summary, via “South Front”

Brief Summary from Igor Steel Strelkov

Slavyansk (Artema, Tselinny and Severny districts), Nikolayevka and Kramatorsk underwent intensive shelling at night. The shelling caused severe damages and a lot of casualties among the civilians, gas pipes have been destroyed. There are no casualties among the militia members.

In the morning enemy aircraft were bombing Kramatorsk. I have no information about the bombing results, because we have no communication with Kramatorsk now.

GRAD rocket launchers bombarded Nikolayevka again half an hour ago We are clarifying the information about casualties now.

Fighting is going on near Donetsk – Ukrainians launched an assault there, which they have been preparing for a long time. We have no communication with Donetsk either.

There is information that Ukrainians have started a tank attack on Seversk. They are pulling up tanks, artillery and infantry to our region. They are preparing for an assault too.

Ukrainian artillery bombarded piskunovka – a small village, where there is no and have never been any of our garrisons (it is a part of a “neutral” territory). There are numerous fires there. The most remarkable point is that just two days ago residents of this village went out to the streets and prevented our militia members from passing through their village, saying “go away from here, we do not want to be shot at”.

We did not arrange any positions there. This did not help the village residents though.

Video: July 1, 8:40, Saur-Mogila, the highest and most important height in Donetsk heavily shelled by Kiev.

The obelisk on top of the hill is a monument to the 20,000+ Russian soldiers that died taking the local hills from the Nazi’s.

Makes one wonder how long Russia will continue to tolerate this bombing on their border...moreso before someone actually decides to bomb Russia itself?

Local reporters have infiltrated a covert organization that hired young people as “Internet operators” near St. Petersburg and discovered that the employees are being paid to write pro-Kremlin postings and comments on the Internet, smearing opposition leader Alexei Navalny and U.S. politics and culture.

[....]

According to Lvova, each commenter was to write no less than 100 comments a day, while people in the other room were to write four postings a day, which then went to the other employees whose job was to post them on social networks as widely as possible.

Employees at the company, located at 131 Lakhtinsky Prospekt, were paid 1,180 rubles ($36.50) for a full 8-hour day and received a free lunch, Lvova wrote.
