Bowe Bergdahl Not Emotionally Ready to Come Home

Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is in “good enough physical condition to allow him to return to the United States,” but he’s “not ready psychologically or emotionally,” U.S. officials confirmed to NBC News on Sunday.

For now, Bergdahl will remain at the U.S. military hospital at Landstuhl Germany for treatment.

Although he’s been permitted to talk to his parents, Bergdahl has so far chosen not to call his family in Idaho, the officials said.

No specific reason for Bergdahl’s mindstate were given except that he continues treatment for psychological and emotional problems as a result of his five years in captivity.

This Bergdahl melodrama is starting to sound positively eerie, like something out of a black novel set in Transylvania with dark foreboding castles and bats and hunchbacked lab assistants and skeletons shackled to the wall in dank underground cellars.....

The deserter is obviously not emaciated and strapped to a hospital bed. He is certainly confined in a room that is well-guarded. He is certainly allowed outdoor walks adjacent to the facility he's in. Is he catching flies and eating them?

Other than that, we can only speculate on the circumstances surrounding this strange character being attended to by doctors, psychiatrists and white-coated attendants, conjuring scenes right out of a creepy Saturday night movie.

I don’t know what to think. Another part of Wikileaks has Bergdahl with a camera looking for someone who speaks English.

And, though I am not original with this, I believe that is exactly what the people’s choice, one barrack Obama hopes will happen. It will be his Reich Stagg Fire incident.

The media has circled the wagons just as I predicted. In the end, Bergdhal won’t be a hero to most people, but most people will have sympathy for him in the end. Obama is being cast has having made a hard choice whether or not to violate the unconstitutional NDAA. Other details are too abstract for people to care about, giving the media a chance to ignore it. Other details, like when the 5 kill some Americans, are too damaging to the Kenyan, forcing the media to ignore it. Zippy will gain from this politically, and will amass more raw power.

And Republicans only criticize the deal because Obama is black.

The administration is hiding him away. He won't talk to his parents because the obamas won't let him. If he does, his parents will be on all the morning news shows. They won't interview well. They don't want any information about this guy to come out unless they release it. The obamas are going to smear soldiers from his unit, make him out to be a victim of kidnapping and torture.

If the first deal offered of 15 Taliban plus cash for an exchange that included the top 5 who were released, then that deal was obviously worse. It sounds, though, like the Taliban wanted to deal from the get-go. An important point from Wikileaks is the information about Bergdahl being on the toilet when captured in an attack on the camp. I don’t believe I saw any information about an attack on the camp. Could he have been captured before they carried out the attack? His prior comments and actions indicate a mindset of desertion. With this administration, the facts may never come to light.

I read that he didn’t want the medical staff to refer to him as Sergeant because he said he didn’t earn it. False propaganda to gin up sympathy or a guy who knew within hours that his mindset was dead wrong?

How would you feel if you were forced to leave your beloved Islamic Life and be returned to the hated country of your birth? And, to add to that burden, to face the possibility of being put to death for the simple crime of desertion and collaboration with the enemy in time of war.

You must admit, that would be a hard pill to swallow.

Not to mention, being separated from his lover...
