I suspect traffic accidents kill more cops than anything else but I don’t have any stats to back it up. My state legislature just yesterday voted to name a stretch of highway after a cop killed in a traffic accident.
A year or so back a cop was deliberately run down by a couple of parolees who had just robbed a bank.

the guy on the bike was kicked off the force for being drunk on duty in his duty car and was prolly drunk when he wrecked the bike... haven't heard what the tox-report says yet
