I nearly wrecked the car laughing when I first heard those years ago.

Obama wouldn’t go to his Auntie Zeituni’s funeral, but you can bet he will go to Maya Angelou’s.

Something tells me she didn’t write that.

Loved it. Fitting tribute, poetic and so true.

Hey dead,
you’re a poet
and I didn’t know it
but you showed it! :)

One of the great scenes in movie history.

Not a word about those who’ve lost their lives for freedom but this knucklehead will get a battleship named after her. Soon there will be “Maya Angolou Blvd’s” popping up all over America. They’ll be just as crime ridden as “Martin Luther King Blvds”.

Oh Maya, how your poems burned brightly
I would stare with awe at your works nightly
But mysteriously, they vanished without a trace
When I tossed your swill in the fireplace

As with many poets who ‘make it’, her writing went downhill. I do enjoy Angelou’s earlier work. But then academe fell in love with her voice (which could sound cool), her femaleness, and her African-Americanness.

Maybe this will get the misogynist murderer off the front page for a few minutes.

“I won’t necessarily say good riddance, but it is evident that this woman had zero talent for writing poetry.”

Maybe so, but I just read some of it and found a few I liked. What bothers me is the way the left worships people like Maya Angelou, but I won’t speak ill of the dead. May the Lord have mercy on her.
