Wow, holding to a set of conservative principles you believe in, instead of always waffling and testing the wind and kissing up to the Marxist Media garners the admiration of the adults in the electorate?
Whoulda thunk it?

What is going on with Dershowitz? Has reason finally set in in his old age? He is, from time to time, actually uttering some conservative ideas and words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This can be frightening!-Chuckle!

Dershowitz is what you used to call an honest liberal. A person who would debate you on the merits instead of name calling and using the state to suppress contrary opinions.

After thinking on the issue for a while I ask the question with regard to Dershowitz: “Should conservatives beware of a Dershowitz bearing gifts?”

I don't mind liberals that play by the rules of civility, but far too many want to go down the totalitarian path to political power.

Dershowitz has always been an honest ideological adversary who argues on the merits. Many conservatives despised him in the past because of his vigorous defense of criminal defendants, though many of us have since come to appreciate the absolute necessity of the criminal defense bar as a check on tyranny. Dershowitz believes, like I do, that the state must prove its case beyond reasonable doubt against even the most unpopular or apparently guilty defendant. In this regard, the defense bar is every bit as noble as the prosecution — and perhaps even more so.
To: SoConPubbie
This is not the first time Dershowitz praised Cruz as his student, he is genuine about Cruz accomplishments as his student, and thereafter. IMO
The computer kept obama out of his class...that’s racist! /S

Why would the computer keep zero out of Dershowitzs class?Because the computer is objective, and unswayed by BS.
To: Aria
I was wondering the same thing. Obama’s been cossetted and brown-nosed his entire life. That computer apparently was programed to allow for racial preferences. Odd, that, as affirmative action got him where he is. I remember people (who should’ve known better) just gush about his achievements. Fact is, as noted elsewhere, he is where he is not despite being black but rather in consequence of his blackness. He’s the personification of mediocrity. He’s the perfect illustration of what’s wrong with America. From Washington to Obama is an object lesson in the decline of America.

For years I have marveled at how the media has squelched any memory of Alan Dershowitz and Gloria Allred being regular members of the Morton Downey Jr. show.

I don’t know how honest Dershowitz is, but he is intelligent, and in this age of Reid, Pelosi and Obama, an intelligent leftist is refreshing.

Like any subject on the liberal plantation, he got tenure with Harvard because he towed the party line.
Now that he is readying for retirement, he can shed some of the straps and buckles of his saddles. He has from time to time over the years been a voice of clarity and reason but only in a guarded way.
The New York Times is following Dershowitz’ lead, they are conceding that Cruz is off the wall smart, so there tact is and will be that Cruz is off the wall dangerous and extreme. They did the same in 1980 to Ronald Reagan who they asserted with near certainty that he would launch WWIII and cause hundreds of millions of deaths.
They got to have an angle on Cruz and they know that painting him as a ‘dumb Bushite’ won’t work.
