N.Y. State Suggests HIV Tests For 13-Year-Olds, Sex Ed In Elementary School

One in four adolescents is likely to acquire a sexually transmitted disease, according to the first ever Youth Sexual Health Plan released by New York State. As CBS 2’s Vanessa Murdock reported, the state has launched a controversial plan to tackle sex education among youth.

The state Department of Health said some 60 percent of high school students in New York state reported they’d had sex by their senior year of high school, and more than 25 percent by their freshman year of high school.

More than one in 10 students said they did not use any method to protect against pregnancy using their last experience of sexual intercourse, while only 7.2 percent of sexually active students used a condom as well as another birth control method, the state said.

This was part of the reasoning behind the release of the first ever Youth Sexual Health Plan, a 22-page document defining “sexual health” as “a state of well‐being in relation to sexuality across the life span that involves physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual dimensions.”

Among the main objectives of the document are promoting the continuity of sexual education across the state, reducing the rate of HIV and sexually transmitted infections, and reducing unintended teen pregnancies.

To reduce the rate of HIV, the state suggested mandatory offerings of HIV testing to all persons 13 or older.

Just one more step in “making AIDS everyone’s problem.”

Is this how Cuomo plans to run out Christians who “have no place in New York?”

Let me guess...the school system superintendent that supports AIDS testing just happens to have a friend who owns a company that can fulfill that need...

As if trashing Christian faith and replacing it with a Youth Sexual Health Plan is somehow going to keep the children safe . . . What fools these people are!

I would like to know the rate of HIV among sexually active young heterosexuals versus the rate of HIV among sexually active young homosexuals. I bet that these two rates are known but not publicized.

Of course if the government keeps lowering the age for sex education, there’s going to be more kids having sex. It’s what they want, because the lack of moral standards weakens a society.

Better that than the suspicion that he has a 13-year-old boyfriend. Not sure which is more likely.

Anything - anything at all - to avoid mention of the rather obvious fact that AIDS is almost exclusively the result of homosexual practices.

It would seem to me that all this focus on sex education would just serve to titillate the kids. And I think that is exactly what these "concerned" educators want to have happen. So let's start getting them horny in grade school.

I recall that somewhere they have stated that the reason we absolutely need to teach sex education to the kiddies is that "Oh, well they are going to do it anyways" and "most of these kids don't get any education on sex at home".

Between Hollywood and Kinsey devotees, I don't know how parents can protect their children any longer from the vulgarity, obscenity and passionate incivility that completely surrounds us.

I have to admit that was my first thought as well. Whose brother in law owns the ‘official’ testing company...

It’s preparation for college, where the real vulgarity begins. Depravity is considered higher education, and some teachers have one mission in life: to disseminate their sickness to as many young minds as possible. 50 years ago they would never have gotten a license to teach.

Yes, and that friend has a relative who in an administrator within the NYS Dept. of Health, maybe even a deputy commissioner who could facilitate the deed. I once heard of a bureau commissioner at OMH facilitating the sale of lighting specific to S.A.D. (seasonal affective disorder) to mental hospitals in NYS for his cousin’s business. That was back in the early 90’s. This is how NYS operates for sure. This guys cousin lived in Arizona.
