To: The Mayor

Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.

Another day better? Take good care of yourself.

Pook and him got along great.

I just don’t need another mouth at the moment.

Sad but true, and we need to find the rightful owner even if they are negligent.

Pity, I took a cotton to the little guy right away.

The Singing Nun - Dominique (1963 )

I can’t understand a word she sings.

The song is a ballad, the story of Domingo Félix de Guzmán (1170-1221), aka Saint Dominic, a Spanish evangelist, diplomat and crusader who founded the Dominican order of monks of the Catholic Church.

Among other things, the Singing Nun recounts his participation in the Albigensian Crusade against the Cathars, a heretical sect in southern France, his conversion of a heretic, his travels from the French Alps to Scandinavia, and other adventures. A French-language version of the song can be found here.

The song spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in December, 1963. The fact that a French-language song about a Christian crusader reached number one and stayed there shows how much the world has changed since 1963.

I hope you are able to reunite him with his owners. Since he
seems gentle, maybe he just got lost from good people.

Shame you can’t keep him...but I do understand.

I remember it and there is nothing new that comes even close to the old depth of songs.

I prefer the Slim Whitman version Rush uses for his “Peace Update”.
