Longtime Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) didn’t submit enough valid signatures to qualify for the ballot this year, Wayne County, Michigan, officials said in a report released on Friday.
Conyers, who has represented Detroit in the House for 49 years, came up more than 400 signatures shy of qualifying for the ballot because his signature-gatherers were not registered voters, according to the Detroit News.
A final report is due next Tuesday. Conyers’ legal team is expected to appeal the ruling later this week.

No bets from me. I also predict that Conyers will be allowed on the ballot. If you are black and democRAT, no laws pertain to you.

It’s a shame that ANYONE is in DC for 49 years. 30 is a lot, anything beyond that is just obscene.
If he runs as a “Write-in” the name will be judged on “intent”. So, then, the Pubbies need to find someone with a name “similar” to Conyers and put him/her in as a “Write-In”. Maybe someone named John Conners or John C. (last name could be Consuelo), or someone with the first name Connie. They could mix it up real good.
The Dem. Party officials will “find” sufficient “legitimate” signatures, just like they’ll find “misplaced votes” in November to re-elect him.

There won’t be a (D) next to his name, they will have to write that in themselves, and spell it correctly too.
I like the idea of one poster further up, find a John Conner and run him on the ballot as well.
