The Cavalry That Never Came ... Mark Steyn
Steyn Online ^ | 9May 2014 | Mark Steyn

Posted on 05/10/2014 1:37:04 AM PDT by Rummyfan

A week before the 2012 election, I wrote:

Someone at the highest level of the United States government made the decision to abandon American consular staff to their fate and cede U.S. sovereign territory to an al-Qaeda assault team — and four out of five Sunday news shows don't think it's worth talking about.

In the smoking ruins of that consulate in Benghazi, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods fought for hours and killed 60 of the enemy before they were overwhelmed, waiting for the cavalry that never came. They're still waiting – for Candy Crowley, David Gregory, Bob Schieffer, and George Stephanopoulos to do their job.

Democrats and their media enablers openly giggle at the word "Benghazi" now. So funny, isn't it? Those provincial simpletons at Fox News are still droning on about dead Americans in Benghazi as if anybody but their drooling rubes care about it, ha-ha... If the Democrats are right about that, it doesn't speak well for the American people. Those four Americans died serving the United States - not Obama, not Clinton, but their fellow Americans. And they're owed not the mawkish, hollow, self-serving eulogies written by hack staffers for the President and the Secretary of State to read over the coffins, but the truth about how and why they died. It's odd, even for the insular Obama cultists, that so many people find that a laughing matter.

It’s a very demoralizing campaign ad for the Democrats. You have some building set upon by vandals, hooligans, and terrorists...you call for help from the only source possible....and they do nothing. Perhaps in the background, one voice suggesting maybe they should call for the French.

One simple thirty-second commercial...destroys the 2016 election for the Democrat running for President, five or six Democratic Senators, and really puts the news media in an awkward position.

Chris Stevens was one of them, a Team Obama loyalist. But they abandoned him and dishonored him in death because the President’s political needs outweighed his life.

This puts it about as clearly as I’ve ever seen it stated ...

The cavalry was on a more important mission - harassing American ranchers.

There’d have to be someone with stones running ... perhaps Ted Cruz, Sarah Palin or Trey Gowdy, but the chances of that are right between slim and none. No, someone like Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Mitt Romney, Marco Rubio or some other moderate Ripon GOP governor will be the nominee and will be scared to death to run that ad. The geniuses that ran the McCain, Romney and Bush 2000 campaigns will be in charge, again.

Obama characterized Benghazi as a 'Bump in the road'.
His words ...
That is about as cold and heartless as it gets.
Followed by Hillary's 'At this point what difference does it make?'

"Someone at the highest level of the United States government made the decision to abandon American consular staff to their fate "

That fact should be a wake up call to all democRats.
You are expendable.
But then again Fanatic Cultists will commit suicide for their religion.

I think you nailed it, 2ndDivisionVet. I, too, have no confidence the Republicans will bring up this act of unbelievable lack of basic duty to those brave men. I’ve totally given up on that party; they are not worthy of my support.

They're still waiting – for Candy Crowley, David Gregory, Bob Schieffer, and George Stephanopoulos to do their job.

There are tons more than just these four, but they are the titular heads of the media snake, if you will. Personally, I hope these peoples' dreams are haunted every night with the treachery of their duplicity.

Well, Old Possum, one might wonder just who is, because there isn’t a party waiting in the wings with the power, and principle to just take over.

That means to me that the issue is taking the Republican Party back from those mainstreamers that took it over. There are plenty of principled folks ready and able to do it, to include many principled elected officials, but not when the party base decides they are going to opt out of the process.

It is precisely why Mr Obama is in office. Now, if you think nothing gets the American people energized and focused on reality like having the worst President to ever occupy the White House, then you have certainly accomplished something, but just how far is that going to go before we get back to some kind of normalcy?

Maybe when he decides that conditions are so bad that he needs another four years in office bringing the country under his protective custody?

The heartlessness of all these caring, compassionate Democrats would impress Putin - if it was ever applied to America's enemies.

Oh, snap.

Correct! Never forget the other part of the Calvary that never arrived: Mitt Romney.

I have no doubt that the RINOS have already promised the DNC that they will not discuss or otherwise use this subject in speeches, commercials or any other way in the upcoming elections. Wouldn't be fair and it is time to move on. Also, the RINOs want to lose..

Just like all good Muslims and their dhimmis. People should reflect on this behavior from the White House and where Obama's sympathies truly lie.
