Even at that, with Goudy, I’m going with Boner seeing his speakership flashing before his eyes. Boner has just spent way too much time warming the bench. Without at least a litle time in the game Boner is done as speaker.

Seems like Krauthammer needs to check his oil——he’s been running about a quart low and really slow for quite some time now. Maybe he’s running for “Captain Obvious? “

Yep...I can safely surmise that the committee will fail in its intent, because of those two feckless wonders...

I really, really wonder if the message will finally get through to the voters in Ohio if this committee fails...

Honestly, I kinda hope the committee has a breakthrough, but I will not hold my breath...

35 It appears that the timing of the creation of this committee will insure that no conclusion is reached before the election. The thing that is good, but too late, is of no use.

It might help to torpedo HRC's candicacy. But I am betting that it is a distraction by Boehner to slip in illegal alien amnesty.

Well, if he does it will be Boehner's doing and not Trey Gowdy's, who has been taking a bum's rap on amnesty for many months on FR.

Boneless Boner belongs in a cave. He’s useless where he is.

Now, Trey Gowty. That’s a real gutsy American politician. Cahones the size of bowling balls and the instincts of a hunter after big game.

There is a difference.

If Gowdy runs the select committee, that would be better than a special prosecutor appointed by Holder.

In the past, the use of a special prosecutor was just an excuse by Congress to avoid doing their job.

With Gowdy in charge, progress will be fast and furious. Just heard that he never lost a case as a U.S. Attorney.

Trey Gowdy would be far superior to a special prossecutor appointed by Holder. If Gowdy runs the committee, things will move along very quickly.

A special prosecutor appointed by Holder will never get the job done while Obama is still in office; and who knows how long Holder would take to appoint someone; and that person would be an Obama supporter.

Don’t be surprised if Holder decides to appoint a special prosecutor once a select committee is appointed. Holder will claim that the select committee should wait until his appointee com[letes his investigation. The ultimate stall.

Krauthammer’s Take: New Benghazi E-mail Akin to Discovery of Nixon Tapes

In 72 - Woodward and Bernstein were relentless in their investigation of Nixon and Congress subpoenaed evidence

In 2014 - Woodward and Bernstein would be burning the evidence and be helping in the coverup. Congress, up until now, looked the other way out of fear of being called racist.

What a different 40 years makes.

Sometimes we all need a purging laxative to feel better. The USA needs one. Obama needs to face articles of impeachment. But then so did Bush. We must put the next President on record and on a short leash, and demand a Congress end their lapdog mentality and start defending our Constitution and rights. NO more imperial Presidencies.

If we ever wish to get our country back, we need to hold the POTUS (regardless of Party) accountable to the Constitution and to the people, and put all subsequent POTUS’s on notice that they are not dictators that can make laws on their own.

We’ve become a disunited nation as a result of government corruption and incompetence. Much of it started with 9-11. Had the government been doing its job with policing VISAs and illegal immigrants, 9-11 would not have occurred.

The absurdity here is that it was the govt that failed to do its job on 9-11 with immigration, no one was held accountable. So now they spend billions if not trillions creating a national security state with SWAT, armored personnel carriers, drones being sent to every podunk USA not to help, but to manage the people.

The political elites need reminded that the USA citizens are the good guys, and had no part in 9-11. Why is govt always looking for an excuse to step on and put their bulls-eye on us? Most of us do not want the face of America changed. If multi-culturalism is the excuse they use to spy and divide us then it needs ended and assimilation begun.

“A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

~Cicero

Thanks, your post absolutely needs repeated. We must remember that traitors wear a patch of political convenience because they are inherently deceivers. The actions of traitors have divided the USA, put its economy, middle class, its security, its freedoms and our rights, opportunities etc all into decline. Much by a political class and with media collaborators, that work a web of deception for only self benefit.

"Too late".

Too incorrect.

This formation of a committee is absolutely perfect timing. Gowdy will chair...and he'll move things along until the "peak" explodes at exactly the right time vis-a-vis the election.

Gowdy would have never accepted this lush assignment if he didn't have a winner in his hands. He's too smart for that. He's NOT about to captain a Titanic!

There's a lot to come out yet...he and others know the 2nd shoe will drop during the hearings. He and we are in a win-win situation, you can make book on it.

Unfortunately, every time, EVERY SINGLE TIME that conservatives are heartened and excited by a break for their side, the boo-birds, nay-sayers and negativos break out on this forum like chicken-pox in a day-nursery.....predicting every kind of bad-result or no-result as the ultimate outcome.

This is why conservatives get disheartened, turned-off, tuned-out, lose spunk....stay at home uninvolved.

I'm looking at this highly-promising turn of events as the beer stein being half-full, not half-empty!

Prosit!

I’m trying to remember a time when the committee for anything came to the penultimate conclusion in time to affect an election. The only decisions I recall are those that conclude that there is nothing to the scandal, move along.

Unfortunately, Gowdy is not control of the process, and there is the opposition that will have its way, especially when Gowdy is out on a limb on his own, with no support from the largest part of the party, and none from the dems.

We have no prosecution out of the DOJ that is not corrupted to lend support.

The press will not bring this to a head, either.

This step is necessary, but hardly an unstoppable, irresistible force that will conclude anything before the election - remember, it is later this year, and much of that time is spent golfing.

It is not being a negative Nancy to recognize that neither party polices the other, for then they would be policed in the same fashion when they are in power.

It is hardly possible to run a “good ole boys’ club” on any other basis.

I hope I am wrong, and would gladly eat my words, but the odds of anything happening before November 2014 are slime to none.

Besides, the main point is being missed.

What were they doing there in the first place? The malfeasance of the administration is far larger than allowing the death of four good Americans.

It is to determine the parties that this administration is supporting, all public statements to the contrary.

They are supporting the enemies of western civilization, and mean to bring its great institutions down.

While we speak of committees to prove what we already know, no one follows the greatest thread in the story, the denouement of which will come son enough.
