“Those who characterize others as “socks puppets” and “Putinistas” for wanting to limit ourselves to our own strategic interests rather than helping the EU save face are the ones on FR behaving like shills.”

They aren’t interested in discussion, only shutting out those who have differing opinions.

I especially loved the pro-Ukraine shill calling for the murder of coup-government Minister of Internal Affairs Avakov on FR, when Ukrainian police killed the Right-Sector leader Muzychko, outside of a bar. This one is likely a paid shill, one of the ones pimping Maidan Propaganda before the coup.

Muzychko was wanted by INTERPOL for the torture and murder of 20+ captured Russian Soldiers at a jail in Chechnya, and the Russians think he led the shooters at the Maidan protests. There are many photos of him tossing molotovs at police during the protests.

His death conveniently takes him out of the picture, no matter if you think the Maidan allegations are true, or not.

“who stole billions from the Ukrainian treasury, stripped the Ukrainian military, and murdered his own people.”

Please...
Explain to us how that is any different than what any other Ukrainian government has done? Do you still deny the US State Department played a huge role in the Maidan Demonstrations?

Any move further, including corrupt government-friendly church, let alone pro-Christian statements from a national leader is a giant leap.

Based on what? Judging from the prevalence of the occult in Russian society and a multitude of vices, including state sanctioned murder and theft, it doesn't seem to have done anybody good. Unless you are referring to the Kremlin's propaganda purposes? In which case, the ROC has been useful for spreading disinformation and subverting religious groups for a very long time.

I thought that a couple of years ago, but now I think I was wrong, Russia is going bad, and corrupt Christianity always turns ugly.

Russia is in trouble.

~So what’s the logic of refusing to fight the cold war now?~

Right now it seems like the Cold War was useless or it’s goal was misunderstood.
Old Bush took Commintern and Clintons cultural Marxism in Moscow as a Cold War prize and brought it to Washington, DC to spread both domestically via DNC and abroad via State Department.

IOW, every Ukrainian government has stolen billions and murdered people under the protection of Moscow, but there wasn't a Maidan demonstration until the U.S. got involved? I'll also add that the ex-President stuffed the ranks of his government, military service, police services, with Russian special agents, many of whom have yet to be expelled, though it is known they were active throughout the country, especially during the Maidan protest. When the Russian trained members of the SBU were filmed, they took safes, boxes of files, and were torching stuff in the fire place (smoke was coming from the chimney), and guess where they fled? To Russia.

So, what evidence do you have of the U.S. government starting the Maidan protests and forcing the Russkie controlled regime to murder people?

Do you still deny the US State Department played a huge role in the Maidan Demonstrations?

What's there to deny? You've never provided evidence to support your conspiracy, since a "huge" role would imply that the United States inflicted Ukraine with the dictator whose actions caused the protest. Do you have any evidence you would like to share with us for any of these things?

Any Russian under about 35 has no idea what living under the Soviets was like, beyond some classroom propaganda for the older ones.

For them, raising their own families now, all they know is that they likely have it much better in Russia now, than their parents did at that age. They see Putin’s infrastructure improvements every day.

Sure they have read the books, heard the stories, and seen the movies about that period, but they have no real attachment to it.

They can travel freely, they can worship pretty much freely, they have internet access, and with a few exceptions, government is FAR less intrusive into their lives, than the US government is in ours.

The Russian mafia and violence are still prevalent, but no where near to the extent it was during the Soviet years, or after the fall.

They have nothing to compare against but the present.

What occult? In fact they have a definition of ‘non-traditional cults’ most notably aum shinrikio or saudi wahhabism, scientology, satanic church which are getting banned as far as attorneys are able to bring their cases to court and prove these cults are totalitarian and hostile to human well-being.
Not that good by US standards of freedom but Russians are less influent for occults on that matter.
All the ‘traditional religions’ including Catholicism are exempt and can be practiced freely. Baptists, Pentecostals aren’t recognized as traditional and it might be part of their problems in Russia, thus not a banned cults there.

Right now it seems like the Cold War was useless or it’s goal was misunderstood.

It changed the world, probably saved it for generations, 100s of millions of people freed, wars became much smaller and less deadly, many portions of the globe were allowed to breathe and advance, it changed China.

We are alive, the Soviet Empire was on the path to destroying the world in a Nuclear Holocaust, thank God for Ronald Reagan and the American military, and the American nation, and NATO.

“What’s there to deny? You’ve never provided evidence to support your conspiracy,”

So, all those stories on FR from western media don’t exist in your mind? The tapes from the US embassy in Kiev don’t exist, http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/02/07/us-usa-ukraine-tape-idUSBREA1601G20140207, nor Victoria Nuland’s stuff??

Ignore facts if you like, but please, don’t expect others to.

I said OCCULT, not cult, these are very different things.

This link contains a few different sources discussing occultism in Russia. I recommend the scholarly article that is linked that goes more into the occult and its prevalence in contemporary Russian literature, as well as its existence within the higher ranks of society.

“Traditional Religions” (denominations) do you realize that America was founded without them?

That America was founded and only about .4% of the population was Catholic, and that Orthodox were non-existent?

For a long time, until immigration brought in “traditional religions”, man knew freedom and liberty, and individualism, and a state that was small and limited, in America.

IOW, you have no evidence that the United States was behind the Maidan protests. There is nothing in the audio that demonstrates that the protest is artificial, that its leaders and members are not legitimate, and it was the shootings, actually, that recruited Ukrainians of all ethnicities, from Jews, to Russians, to even Afghanies, to form self-defense groups and fight the regime.

Remember that your circumstantial evidence, which is gold to you, is but a dung heap to normal thinking people who actually have some idea of what happened.

It’s a first observation of every American expat is Russia, even for late Soviet peroid.
An idea to restrict one from painting his house the way he wants or to dig a pool on his property, even a dress code are absolutely alien ideas for the Russians. Their authorities aren’t bothered to restrict swimming or climbing in certain places, even an idea to force drivers use their seat belt is quite a novel in Russia.

Russia has always had the “Occult”, most usually associated with Orthodoxy.

The rise today though, has more to do with the internet, than any conspiracy. We have the same type of nutters here, too.

Remember the San Diego crew that cut off their own testicles and poisoned themselves, so they would be “clean” when the alien mothership arrived?

I’m not telling you Russia is ahead of America in terms of religious freedoms but you are still ignoring their background. They are still progressing.

Sure they have read the books, heard the stories, and seen the movies about that period, but they have no real attachment to it.

Many of the Pro-Russian protestors in Crimea, for example, were holding Communist flags and holding up pictures of Stalin. Ideologists on state run television are constantly giving their people revisionist history of the soviet union, and they are condemning the Soviet's errors... of letting states like Ukraine go. They can travel freely, they can worship pretty much freely, they have internet access, and with a few exceptions, government is FAR less intrusive into their lives, than the US government is in ours.

As a matter of fact, professional Russians are fleeing the country for better shores. Russian news agencies are routinely brought down and placed under the control of the Kremlin, if they are not destroyed completely. Just recently an editor for a news group was beaten in a subway, and the Russian government made moves to have him replaced, even though the group wasn't even owned by the government.

IMO, we are closer to Nuclear Holocaust these days than ever during the Cold War.

Where did I say there was a conspiracy to it? Where there is a spiritual vacuum, something has to fill it up. As for "nutters," you are describing people as nutters who are presidents of universities, professors, intellectuals, military generals, politicians, etcetera, who appear on state run television too. And these occultisms aren't the mundane western time with our stupid wiccans. We're talking about people who think Aleister Crowley is worth spreading, and Slavic-Shamanism that goes a long with bizarre racial theories wherein the Russian people become the true heirs of the 'Aryan tribe." This is Nazi-Germany occultism.

You forget that Russians and their Orthodox religion were who created the Soviet Union.

It isn’t like Russia was conquered by atheist invaders from somewhere.
