When Kit Laney answered a knock on his door Saturday, law enforcement officers from the U.S. Forest Service handed him a piece of paper announcing his Diamond Bar Ranch in southwest New Mexico would be shut down Wednesday and his 300 head of cattle grazing there would be removed – one way or the other.
Other Forest Service officials were busy nailing similar notices on fence posts along the highway and informing neighbors that after Feb. 11, they should not attempt to enter the Diamond Bar property.
Laney was not surprised. He knew someday there would be an on-the-ground confrontation to enforce a 1997 court ruling which says his cattle are trespassing on federal land. That day has arrived.

Study the context of that clause - it doesn’t mean what you seem to think it means.
Enlighten me.
Read it a little closer. It refers to Territories and other land that the Fed can Constitutionally own. States are not Territories anymore and what the Feds can Constitutionally own within a State is spelled out in Art. 1 Section 8, Paragraph 17.
“To exercise exclusive legislation in all cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten miles square) as may, by cession of particular states, and the acceptance of Congress, become the seat of the government of the United States, and to exercise like authority over all places purchased by the consent of the legislature of the state in which the same shall be, for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings;”
So, the one you cited is limited to covering territories, “ten miles square” for DC and land “for the erection of forts, magazines, arsenals, dockyards, and other needful buildings.”

I haven’t read or seen anything suggesting that “BLM are real tough guys”. In fact, their unnecessary cruelty and slobism suggests they are but libs with guns. They should be downright embarrassed and that “just taking orders” doesn’t work in this Country
The feds have been holding these lands in New Mexico and Nevada since they were ceded by Mexico in 1848.
Some date back to the Louisiana Purchase in 1803

No land lying within the boundaries of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hildago is “Territory or other Property belonging to the United States.”
The treaty was a transfer of governmental authority, not a deed to any land.
