Activists with the radical pro-affirmative action group, By Any Means Necessary, staged a protest on Tuesday featuring a black Detroit high school student who was denied admission to the University of Michigan.
The student, Brooke Kimbrough, claimed UM rejected her because of her “morals,” and not her below-average ACT score of 23. (The average U-M student has a score between 28 and 32.)
“I believe that I have been rejected because of the morals that I stand for,” said Kimbrough, according to Fox 2 news. “I will take back my freedom as a tool to help others. I have left the plantation to get my freedom but I am coming back for you, too. I will make it my civic duty to document every news of a rejection letter that the university produces to our black, brown and red bodies.”
Kimbrough’s comments follow weeks of increasing tensions over race at U-M. BAMN activists, as well as minority students with the Black Student Union, another group, have continuously demanded increased black and Latino enrollment, even though a state constitutional amendment prohibits administrators from considering race as a factor toward admission....

Take your beliefs and morals and go to a community college for a couple of years.
Dr. Sowell has written much on the injustice that mismatching students to their schools do to them. An average student graduating from an average school does much better in life than one who enters but fails at a school above his capabilities.
Admit them and then have them flunk out after 2 semesters? That’s going to turn out well.....
That’s what the football and basketball teams are for.
Just because you can balance a ball of yarn on your head while you speak into a microphone, that doesn't qualify you for college admission.
They could be admitted and given straight A’s on every course offered and they would still fail the only test that really counts - the Test of Life.
Actually, she’ll be on academic probation for three more semesters after those first two. Plenty of time to get the “Don’t flunk us out just because we’re too stupid for college” banners crayoned up.
I thought they started that practice years ago.
Admitting unqualified students will lead to them failing school and be loaded up on debt.
Let me point this out. Around thirty years ago...universities started to put pre-college courses on their offerings...and forcing a number of students to take college classes which were less than math 101 or English 101. The whole gimmick was because numerous kids were showing up and unable to do first-year college work. They forced you into a room...to take a test, and the result was that you’d be denied 101 type classes until you took the pre-college class. At that time, it was around $300 for the class. I failed the math exam and this was the gimmick they wanted me to do.
Instead, I walked over to the base education office...took the math 101 CLEP test and passed it. No cost, automatic college credit, and I skipped this whole gimmick.
So, let me tell you how this UMich deal works. The unqualified students will be brought in. They won’t be able to do real college work....so they will do pre-college classes (maybe four classes, maybe ten). Who pays? Well, I’m guessing that the university will rig up some hidden deal where all students are paying into a pot for the unqualified classes to be covered, or the state will be forced to pay. An entire year will be wasted on the catch-up classes. If you had bad learning habits before....nothing will happen with the trend, and you will quit by the end of the this first year.
It’s a gimmick, for more customers, and more junior professors who are now teaching below the line....to kids mostly at the eighth grade level. The high school and county board were stupid enough to pass them no matter what, with lousy instructors throughout their years in middle and high school. This is the result.
We might as well create a fresh new concept called ‘college school’, which is where you go after high school, to teach you what you should have learned in twelve years. The activists aren’t stupid....it’s just that they aren’t willing to tackle county education boards and demand responsibility on their part, or demand teachers be fired when they can’t teach at a competent level.
Basing admissions on skin color is Racism. No other word for it.
And when she starts failing everything because her abilities are subpar (I assume with an ACT score so far below the norm she has difficulties) what does she do then? Have another temper tantrum, to which the U with run around trying to find ways to give her, her way.
Just another example of Black Race Privilege. Blacks must never be judged negatively by the content of their character, academic qualifications, or for any reason. They must be judged positively by the color of their skin.
Looks like she could be a future First lady. Seems to me I have seen a picture of Michelle and her husband in their younger school days that resembles the pictured scene.
I was thinking about this with the President of Western Washington University wanting to be “less white”. You get the white suburban kids and these disadvantaged black youth.
In five years, the white kids graduate and leave. The black kids are two years behind and stay on. Do that a few cycles and pretty soon he’ll reach his goal.
And then, when she finally graduates with faux high honors, she will be afforded a high paying job in entity where she will holler racism and thus be promoted to ever higher positions of responsibility. Along the way, she’ll be afforded competent staff to really handle her workload. That staff will not get the rewards for doing her job, she will. Said job will be in “Human Resources”, or some such non-pedal to the metal job.
I worked at Ford during the reign of the terrorist Jac Nasser and saw this type of thing happen when the terrorist decided there were too many white faces in positions of responsibility.
Oh, and Rick Snyder and the state legislature will continue to be sure to make sure UM gets its fair share of taxpayer dollars all along the way.
Does a 23 even get her into Saginaw Valley St. or UM-Dearbornistan? Before all this AA junk blacks had to be actually better than whites as not be proven intellectually inferior. My how we have fallen.
