Also remember this when the pro-vaccine people demand only published peer-reviewed work.

Judges, copying SCOTUS Justices, who think they’re scientists.

Based on what I know about this issue, Virginia can throw as much state revenue as it wants to at global warming research (aka down the toilet) because such research is protected by the 10th Amendment.

On the other hand, if Viriginia is receiving federal funding for global warming research then that is a problem imo. It is a problem because the states have never delegated to Congress, via the Constitution, the specific power to address climate issues.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

(How would crooks survive without the federal government?)

Think about it. Replace ‘Climate research’ with ‘Nuclear Research’, or perhaps the next wave of technology that becomes the Economic cash cow for the U.S.

You still want working notes of Research Professors publicly available? Even to Foreign countries? Like providing free technology to China?

Because that’s the end result.

Unfortunate, but not unexpected. It means Michael Mann will get to hide any number of smoking guns which would destroy his credibility and dry up untold wealth gleaned from the corrupt and unethical warming alarmist enterprise.

Hopefully discovery in Mann’s suit against Mark Steyn will bring this out anyway.

So the “Global Warming” cover-up continues, thanks to a corrupt judiciary!

....so climate research is exempt from FOIA, but national and military secrets are not?

Here is the Virginia Freedom of Information Act section at the crux of the case, one of the law’s exemptions from disclosure:

“Data, records or information of a proprietary nature produced or collected by or for faculty or staff of public institutions of higher learning…in the conduct of or as a result of study or research on medical, scientific, technical or scholarly issues…where such data, records or information has not been publicly released, published, copyrighted or patented.”

But if you donate any money to a conservative cause, like say Prop 8, that’s public information.

Private funds to a private organization = public.

Public funds to a public institution = private.

That makes sense.
