“These last four days make or break me. I don’t think I will be able to survive this year,” said Philip Kerwick, owner.

Kerwick admits he’s racked up a $12,000 delinquent tax bill. […] Kerwick says he’s tried to negotiate with the City’s Department of Revenue in the past few months while dealing with an illness. …

The business has been around since 1920. But Mayor Nutter regards it as more important to have the New Black Panthers harass voters than to keep businesses alive in his city.

That would make Nutter’s blood run cold. So why not?

Shutting down the business just before the 4 busiest days of the year for them?

Sounds like malice

Don’t know exactly how many, but there are some photos of them on their Facebook page. Some clue might be there as to Nutter’s priorities, possibly.

Hey maybe they can relocate to New Orleans to make it a chocolate city.

Sorry, but it just sucks when a govt of any kind bankrupts a business. Guess they don’t want anyone conducting business in their town.

And the tax base withers away.

Nutter was on Philly’s city council for years, so he’s got a huge chunk of blame to bear for that city’s decline. And he seems to want to accelerate it as mayor.

If the mayor and all those extortionists shut down all the businesses, they can then go out and find real jobs for themselves because no one will be paying their salaries and their wasteful spending.

I wasn’t considering the effect on his blood. I was thinking more along the lines of his Nutters shriveling up. Heh.

That’s blood-related too, if one wants to get pedantic.

Yep, they’ll really collect that money by shutting down the business. Bet the guy will liquidate and say adios. I can’t imagine that businesses are lining up for a spot in Philly.

I guess the upside is that they can grow the arts. The boarded up windows will provide a nice canvas for graffiti.
