Here we go again. Former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg has announced today he will be dumping $50 million into a new gun "safety" organization and campaign.
The new organization, Everytown, will house gun control groups Moms Demand Action, Mayors Against Illegal Guns and others. The organization is being touted as a direct counter to the National Rifle Association. From the New York Times:

They need a reality show where Bloomberg comes into your house when you are away, and tosses your unhealthy food, cigarettes, guns, and anything else he doesn’t like in the trash.

The difference between the NRA and this is bottom up vs top down. The NRA is effective because it has a passionate membership. Top down works for the leftist groups that fund the Democrats and impact policy (see all the Soros groups, etc). They don’t incite passionate followings because they work behind the scenes.
Everytown? It sounds like an theme park at Disneyland. Does it have a theme song?
I wonder if he will require his security team to join and give up their guns. Hmmm.
