Let's image the GOP does gain the six seats necessary to win control of the Senate, and maybe even the few additional seats that Nate Silver thinks possible. Let's further imagine that it then sets out to do the right thing for real immigration reform. What then for immigration reform?
Well, there's good news and bad news.
The words "Senate Republican majority" conjure up an obvious and easy path to true immigration reform. Republicans, in control of the Senate will just vote for it, right?

They still have 60 votes for amnesty. They still have 10 votes to get amnesty out of judiciary.
The probably have 41 votes to filibuster any good bill. Obama will veto anyway.
When democrats gained a super majority (60%) in senate and huge majority in the House they quickly passed Obamacare on xmas eve. if democrats had that again they would have already passed Amnesty and gun control
Seal the boarders tighter than a frogs butt and enact “E-Verify”.

It was supposed to be a huge deal when it happened in 1994. Nothing much really changed. It turned out that Republicans had been out of power so long that they had forgotten how to behave. Dems whined for bipartisanship and continued to rule as if nothing had happened. You never saw Republicans locking Democrats out of committee meetings.
Democrats learn from their mistakes.
