Add the U.S. Postal Service to the list of federal agencies seeking to purchase what some Second Amendment activists say are alarmingly large quantities of ammunition.
Earlier this year, the USPS posted a notice on its website, under the heading "Assorted Small Arms Ammunition," that says: "The United States Postal Service intends to solicit proposals for assorted small arms ammunition. If your organization wishes to participate, you must pre-register. This message is only a notification of our intent to solicit proposals."

Alan Gottlieb, chairman of the Washington-based Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms, said: "We're seeing a highly unusual amount of ammunition being bought by the federal agencies over a fairly short period of time. To be honest, I don't understand why the federal government is buying so much at this time."
Everytime I post one of these articles about the Fed bulking up on purchases, I remind everyone of the Anti-Deficiency Act which prohibits Fed personnel from purchasing goods and services beyond what is required for the current GFY. The only exception I am aware of is for contracts awarded on a Multi=Year basis. Commercial Items like ammo would never meet that definition. IDIQ and Requirements contracts are only A contracting vehicle and do NOT provide any funding until the Delivery Order is issued and again the funding citation must be from the current funding for requirements of GFY 2104.

From where do these disparate Federal agencies garner the right to arm and deputize their staff?
Post Office?
IRS?
HHS?
Social Security?
BLM?

Post Office purchase of ammo right after a BLM confrontation? Bad timing or does it indicate something else. Military equipment is being dispersed over the country in small towns so it will not look too suspicious. The feds are arming at a high rate for what?

Going Postal may start to mean something new in the years ahead. Are they sending mail carriers out with armed escorts in Detroit yet? This might explain it. OR... are we now delivering US Mail in Ukraine, Iraq, Afghanistan?

so....we’re allowing the very people who are stereotypically associated with shooting up their own workplaces to make bulk buys of ammo?

How can the US Government make these purchases without authorizing documentation. Surely someone will find and leak their “Battle Plan”.

Colorado passed a law that if you did not license a vehicle for a while you had to pay $100 fine (fee). People were so mad that they had to put a sheriff officer in the office to keep the peace.

You need to ask, “Where is their constitutional authority” to arm and deputize their staff?
Answer: There is none.
