Sucking Carbon From Sky May Be Necessary to Cool Planet, UN Says
NBC News ^ | April 14, 2014 | by John Roach

International efforts to combat global warming are so broken that it's come to this: hoovering massive amounts of carbon dioxide out of the sky.

A body of scientists convened under the auspices of the United Nations is giving more weight to the idea that vacuuming vast stores of CO2 from the skies and burying it in the ground may be necessary to limit the temperature rise to the internationally agreed safe level of 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit above pre-industrial levels. The plan's not quite like a giant thermostat for the whole globe, but the metaphor's not completely off either.

Maybe they should start by vacuuming the air out of the UN building. It’s probably not up to snuff with all those noses stuck up in the rarified air.

UN: "Give us control over your money and your activities and we will save you from a horrible death by global warming."

FU UN, your ignorant leftist lies are so damn transparent, just how stupid are you libtards?

Well, I would suggest that since the UN sucks big time that the job should be assigned to the UN managers and employees as probably the only useful thing they will ever accomplish.

Someone figured out that they could bill the fedgov for this operation and the fedgov figures it will placate the so called deniers..

Win - win....

Follow the money. It’s all about the money. The environment has nothing to do with it.

I looked up NBC in the dictionary but all I saw was a picture of an Onion.

And here's a doozy from the comment section:

Josephine-1266256 commented an hour ago Cooling, warming...Here is a truth. There is an amount of CO2 in the atmosphere that will kill all of us. There is a tipping point for that. It is possible to outpace the ability of the ever reducing vegetation to remove it. You can argue over climate all day. But eventually we can put enough CO2 into the atmosphere that O2 breathing organisms, such as ourselves cannot breathe. It's not a matter of oh let the Chinese, the Indians or the Muslims die off and there will be enough air for who is left. No, when the atmosphere is gone it is gone.

I wonder how Josephine feels about Guam?

Remember when Jerry Brown wanted to drill big holes in the mountains and install huge fans to blow the smog out of LA and into the desert? Not kidding.

The cost of implementation is high. The cost of the “oops” that comes later is even higher.

Beat me to it

We have carbonsuckers....... trees.

Not only that but if you drive much in the South you see lots and lots of them ....... forests. The forests that replace what was once cropland are not real old, perhaps 50 years or less.

I’m not talking about the mountains and National Forests but private land. There are square miles of it.

As the farmlands transition from fields and pastures, the climax forests develop and with them increasing populations of wild life that are adapting to the new habitat.

The problem is the moonbats are city bound and have no clue to life beyond their isolated urban habitat.

Al Gore lives in that? It figures. My house is about the size of that little part off to the left side.

Poor Al. I don’t know how he makes it in such a cramped home.

Hmmm. I haven’t seen that house in VA before. It looks sort of small. Maybe that’s just the servants’ quarters.

But, it’s a good thing he still has those houses in TN and VA, because when Global Warming really gets going, that place in Kalifornia will be under water.

Or maybe he really doesn’t believe that’s going to happen.
