Fed cops don’t have to obey laws, and this man clearly obstructed this agent’s right to do whatever he wanted to do.
Get a VERY good attorney. He might get them suspended and win a little for the retirement account.
He needs to be fired. These cops are required to go to court and testify. If I was a defense attorney and this guy was on the stand I would try to get this on the record.
That’s because of the entitlement mentality. It doesn’t stop with just those on welfare or the rich.
When the middle lane (to his left) wasn’t moving, Ted should have known something was up. It could have been an old woman in a walker or a duck walking its ducklings. BAD driving by Ted.
But the cop should not have lied (nor did he need to).
There should be disciplinary action.
I am starting to seriously consider getting a dashcam.

BS, he made an illegal left turn against the on-coming traffic which had the green right of way. Even with his little lights flashing which were blocked by traffic in the #1&2 lanes, the BP vehicle had total responsibility to yield to on coming traffic. You can't just assume traffic with the right of way is going to yield. That's utter suicide.
Then he lied about the entire event.

bottom line: HE ran the red light, nearly hit a car with a couple of old ladies in it, and then tried to give me a ticket (because cops cant't be wrong, right?).
When I started to ask questions he "got a call about a bar fight", handed me my license and zoomed off like a bat out of heck.

So is driving on full speed when the middle, non turn, lane is not moving.
I don’t know POST procedure for Code 3 left turns. I know observationally that every time I have seen any emergency vehicle has made that left they do, indeed, proceed with great caution.
If that is the rule then we have a better idea why the cops lied. And you are right (but this might be 50/50).

BTW Mr. dumb, vehicle #2 which had the right away could say the exact same thing. If BP vehicle #1 could not see the #3 lane where V2 was, he should have never proceeded into the path of V2.
End of story.
Make sure it's hidden, the cops find it, it will disappear just like their dashcam videos do when they are at fault. Get a voice recorder too.
The article says that the place where the accident occurred was marked as NO LEFT TURN. So the agent was making an illegal left turn as well.........................

That doesn’t change anything. I have been in that exact situation many times and every time I assume the stopped traffic is stopped for a reason.
But that is just me.
Get your technician ham radio license + APRS (www.aprs.fi) tracking gear and a dashcam, and you can transmit the images/data/voice to an off-site FTP server in case the cops "accidentally" destroy/lose your hard/drive or SIM card during a "cursory search of your vehicle".
If a cop is willing to lie to get you in trouble, he/she is willing to destroy evidence that will exonerate you.
Ted would not have expected a car to be turning left from a No Left Turn intersection....................

What does POST say about lights and sirens? Does that mean when a fire engine drives the wrong way on a street b/c their “side” is blocked they are committing a crime?
I think this has to do with caution and procedure, not legalities.
