Asian American group tries to reconnect with GOP, citing shared core values
Fox News ^ | 4-13-14

A group of Asian Americans is starting a grassroots effort to garner support for the Republican Party and its candidates, saying the GOP most closely aligns with their core values including family, education and entrepreneurship.

The group, the Asian Republican Coalition, is co-founded by international investment banker John Ying, who during the 2012 presidential election cycle served on the Republican National Finance Committee.

“We need a forum, and this first step will go a long way,” Ying told FoxNews.com earlier this week.

He hopes the effort, which will include a May 6 kickoff event at the Newseum in Washington, D.C., will provide a “friendly front door” for both potential voters and Republican lawmakers and officials.

While much of the Republican Party’s focus has recently been to trying to connect with Hispanic voters, considering Democratic President Obama won 71 percent of their vote in his re-election victory, Asians are the country’s fastest-growing ethnic group, according to a 2012 U.S. Census report.

However, over the past three presidential election cycles, Asians have increasingly voted Democrat: 73 percent for Obama compared to 26 percent for GOP nominee Mitt Romney in 2012; 62 percent for Obama compared to 35 percent for GOP nominee Arizona Sen. John McCain in 2008; and 56 percent for Democratic nominee John Kerry compared to 44 percent for GOP winner George W. Bush in 2004.

“How did the Republican Party lose us?” Ying asks.

You wouldn't be able to process or comprehend my answer to your asinine question, so I'm not going to bother to answer it. Have a nice day.

Suburbanite Asians in California and New Jersey vote Democrat.

In general an area has to be below 1,000 people per square mile to reliably vote Republican. Even when Asians move to the suburbs they prefer high density housing, big houses on small plots of land, with the next door houses about 5 feet away. They are ok with big gov style HOA rules and regulations, a requirement for orderly high density living.

I didn’t know Asians all thought alike. I gave them more credit than that.

The general record is that Hindus and Muslim from India and Pakistan vote Democrat. You can confirm this on line.

One example is loony foreign born gun garbber who 0Bungu wants to make Surgeon General. He is a Hindu born in England w parent born in India-— Dr. Vivek Murthy

Why do Indian-Americans flock to the Democratic Party?

As the US gets ready for elections later this year, Washington-based journalist Seema Sirohi explores why many Indian-Americans support the Democratic Party.

A young Indian-American recounted recently that his mother, who is working hard on President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign in the tough swing state of Florida, had told him flatly not to come home if he decided to vote for Mitt Romney, the Republican rival.

He laughed but said his mother was not exactly joking when she issued the warning.

George W. Bush killed us with Asians for a generation. Everything Asians dislike about America embodied and the GOP made him President.

Sorry, Asians, but the GOPe would rather court the Hispanic vote, and they’ve already told the GOPe “No Asians!”

Thanks for being here and posting. This prejudice thing can be pretty tricky.

A great example is your referring to NASCAR as if all conservatives are NASCAR fans. That is of course a wild generalization. You would be offended if I said all Asians are good students or belong to Asian gangs or that they like Sumo wrestling because these are stereotypes and are provably false.

Frankly were I to say all Asians like Sumo wrestling that would probably as crazy and false as saying all NASCAR fans are rebels with suppressed and violent urges.

I think a lot of us agree that sports are overemphasized in public education. I note that there have been more and more Asian Americans on Olympic teams recently.

As for not being liked by white people, I think this is a prejudice of yours as well. A friend of mine was being treated by a Chinese (from China) doctor at a Veteran’s Admin Hospital in Milwaukee WI. In the conversation the doctor told my friend that he had been afraid to come to Milwaukee because Milwaukee does not have a Chinatown. Not having a Chinatown meant that probably people in Milwaukee do not like Chinese. But he came anyway and was so happy that all of his neighbors accepted him for who he was.

You must not be in my industry (software) because there are many many Asians that achieve high ranks in companies like Oracle, Microsoft. And your use of a Hollywood liberal product as a datapoint leads to my last point

You admit that people of your Asian backgrounds cannot tell the difference between white people (between Republicans and Democrats). If I said that about Asians you would call me prejudiced (Since I lived for a year in Korea I am actually pretty sophisticated in differences between Koreans-Japanese-Chinese). It is so sad that your community can’t tell the difference because if there is a white subgroup that doesn’t like Asians… Well let me say it another way.

Big Bang Theory is produced by white liberals. White liberals are the ones who hurt Asian Americans by enforcing affirmative action. This is provably damaging to the hardworking Asian American students. If anyone is trying to take away the damage of discrimination against Asian Americans coming from Affirmative Action it is white Conservatives.

http://www.mercurynews.com/education/ci_25361339/california-affirmative-action-challenge-is-dead

It is tragic that your community falls for media propaganda and Democrat duplicity wrongly as you say. I hope you will come back to FR frequently and observe for yourself that conservatives seek a colorblind, free society where hardworking people are able to succeed and we have American brotherhood.
