The Bureau of Land Management vowed Saturday that it would continue its legal fight to remove illegal cattle from a rural Nevada range after ending a tense weeklong standoff with a rancher and his supporters.

"After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, [rancher Cliven] Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially," a statement from the bureau said. "We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner."

Absolute proof of why we need the First and Second Amendments. This never would have happened without a stand by courageous, armed patriots.

Very true. I suspect, or hope, that somebody very high up bitch slapped the BLM, otherwise it could have become another Waco.

Yes, it was the armed militias that scared these low-life cowards away, but that never should have been necessary. If the sheriff had done his job and arrested the federal cattle ranchers there would have been no need to negotiate the return of this stolen property.

We need State and Local government officials who understand the constitution and are willing to stand against this dangerous growing federal bureaucracy.

The militias should just be a fail-safe.

Love how the bureaucratic hack says Bundy “owes taxpayers.” No he owes corrupt political hacks at wasteful government agencies who came up with bogus fees and taxes to drive out ranchers in order to make way for the ChiComs.

Oops, I meant “federal cattle rustlers”. These people have no idea what ranching or any other productive activity is.

I haven’t seen anything in the news (Including Fox) about the Harry Reid/Reid’s son/Chinese connection to wanting that land for a Solar Plant. When is that going to surface?

While that is true, and I’ll give someone at the top credit for realizing that it would have only taken one mis-step for this situation to have turned very bad, I don’t for a minute think “it’s over”. What Bundy won is a battle, not the war. He got his cattle back, but the BLM may just be trading their strongarm tactics for ones that happen in courthouses, at the hands of lawyers and judges rather than ranchers and cowboys.

“When is that going to surface?”

A week or two after the Loch Ness Monster comes up for air... long enough to be interviewed on MSNBC.

Are their lips moving? Then they must be lying. I hope the local supporters stay vigilant and with cameras ready.

You're probably right about the gov going after him through the courts and legal harassment. But this battle is showing us that we are not alone and we can take on the government. More people will come the next time.

The Connecticut gun grab law is another one that got people going. Slowly more people are seeing, and more importantly acting, on what is going on. People are not buying guns in record numbers because it's blue skies and unicorns with Obama.

Folks are fed-up is what they are.

I hope and pray more citizens begin standing up to these thugs.

No one wants armed conflict, except the alphabet agencies. Who showed up with all their toy’z first?

Well...there ya have it.

Both guns and cameras. The guns (2d Amendment) get the attention and the cameras publicize what’s going on (1st Amendment, forcing the Regime’s thugs to back down. Just as the Framers intended, the two amendments work together to prevent tyranny.

They will probably team up with the EPA and IRS - will triple the size of the army they can put on the ground and add some more ruthlessness to the mix.

They won't be happy until they get the opportunity to use lethal force to put those who resist into "their proper place".

Well let’s hope that there is some strategery happening.. that they aren’t just waiting to respond.

Ideas include finding the identities, contact information, and the office and home locations of individuals who make decisions - AND importantly - any individuals who are tasked to attempt to enforce. These people have to know that they’ll be in the cross hairs in a way exactly like those they target.

Who are “the armed militias”? What made them different from the rest of the protestors? In the videos I watched the protesters seemed unorganized and even belligerent. Didn’t seem like there was any leadership, seemed like a mob. If protesters and militias want CW2 like some were saying they better be more organized than that and have some real leadership or it will crash and burn big time.

"After 20 years and multiple court orders to remove the trespass cattle, [rancher Cliven] Bundy owes the American taxpayers in excess of $1 million. The BLM will continue to work to resolve the matter administratively and judicially,"

Bad article that reinforces the government's bogus storyline. Bundy has not been allowed to pay his grazing fee because he has refused to sign the illegal terms and conditions that would destroy his livlihood. The BLM wants to get rid of Bundy and all other ranchers and are using the Endangered Species Act to illegally reduce ranchers allotment and vastly increase fees.

Bundy's legal claims are shaky. He needs a real legal team who can attack the BLM thugs and their criminal behavior. What he is doing now just won't work.

Try to imagine where we would be all over this country if we didn’t have guns. These progressive goons would have their boot on everyone’s throats 24/7. Its bad enough with guns.

If only the FedGov was as concerned with removal of 25 million illegal aliens.
