Russia: US claims on Boston bombing a 'low blow

Moscow (AFP) - Russia Saturday dismissed as a "low blow" claims that Moscow had failed to provide intelligence over one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, blaming anti-Russian sentiment in Washington over Ukraine.

The New York Times reported on Wednesday that Russia declined requests from the FBI for information on Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, who died in a gun battle with police after a four-day manhunt following the bombing.

Citing a review of how American intelligence and law enforcement agencies could have thwarted the bombing, the Times said Russia shared additional information on Tsarnaev only after the attack.

"They found that the Russians did not provide all the information that they had on him back then, and based on everything that was available, the FBI did all that it could," the Times quoted a senior American official briefed on the review as saying.

But Moscow hit back, with the foreign ministry saying in a statement: "It seems that they are trying to push responsibility onto us. If that's true, it's a low blow."

"Given the anti-Russia campaign being waged in the US, due to the events in Ukraine and Crimea, we do not rule out that someone is trying to exonerate the American special services, which did not see that a terrorist attack was in preparation," the statement said.

Russia is quite right. We got the info while Obama was playing tiddly winks with Putin....the adoption bit was going on and another stupid little feud.

Obama was trying to be strong (a bully) by telling Putin to get lost and take your info with you.

And Putin sent info on more than one occasion.

How do I know Obama said "Ignore Putin".

Because if we had looked, we would have found the connection to the two guys who had their throats sliced earlier and the trip to Russia by the older son.

I have no love for Russia but I agree. Our internal security is not their responsibility and they warned us twice about those bass turds. It was ignored.

Obama and the drive by media are pathetic. He and his cronies are trying to blame Russia for their own incompetence and complicity in Islamic terrorism.

What BS.

1. The Russians warned America.

2. America ignored it and said the terrorists did not
even deed a passport.

3. After the atrocity, the First Lady removed
one of the accomplices who was grabbed by the crowd
at the time.

4. Anyone in jail yet in the USA for ignoring the warnings
and allowing them “in” without a passport?

5. Not a chance.

Russian foreign ministry, "It seems that they are trying to push responsibility onto us"

Russian foreign ministry, do not take personally, Obama never takes responsibility for his failures.

Many people remember that our government was told about the terrorist nature of this family by the Russians.

Obama admin trying to rewrite history once again to cover up their ignorance.

What am I missing here. IIRC, I heard after the bombing that Russian had provided the US information on one or both of the bombers BEFORE the bombing and the US did nothing with it.

This reads like some in government here are NOW complaining they didn’t get everything they wanted from the Russians AFTER the bombing? If this is true, fat lot of good a bunch of post-bombing information will help those killed or injured.

Frankly, this just reeks of incompetency by US agencies to me, not something nefarious done by Russia.

What is that I smell? Bulls##t, crap, Do-Do. The whole thing was a false flag and the Russians want no part of it.

The Tsarnevs were only in the USA because of their uncle who appears to have been involved in CIA efforts to materially support Chechen rebels back in the 90’s.

The Fed Gov keeps supporting Islamic terrorists when they attack Russia or it’s allies and they keep biting the hand that feeds.

The Washington government’s domestic failures and civil rights abuses require an external enemy as a distraction and excuse. Like the defunct politburo, the ailing beltway will invent an external enemy for this roleplay. Ironically, they have lit upon the Russian Federation as the boogeyman of choice. The choice is not random. It is a place where the neocon instinct to agitate, destabilize and garrison the world has overlap with leftist one world goals. Thus the emergence of Obamacon loyalists.

Expect nothing but lies, bloodlust and failure from this new fusion of the corporatist right and the collectivist left.
