Indeed. The government is systematically destroying the improvements Bundy made to the property, in order to make returning the cattle impossible or impractical. I wonder if they intend to start shooting at people attempting to replace the water troughs? Snipers are, I’m sure, posted.

This destruction of his water towers and troughs reminds me of Sherman and the burning of Atlanta - scorched earth destruction. This is what the feds of capable of - destroy a person’s livelihood completely - I wonder if they killed the dogs as I’m sure the rancher has some.

The government wants that land for its own purposes. Wiping out the Ranchers is vital to their plans, whatever they may be. We are not being told why the government is doing this...the tortoise story is BS and everybody knows it. The tortoises thrive when there are cattle pooping on the ground, and the government is slaughtering all the tortoises from a preserve they are closing.

If the ranch has water tanks, wells,drizzlers, etc. on public land they are there not only with gummint permission but by contract and are maintained by the ranch, not BLM. They, and all associated equipment are private property and not to be screwed with except by prior negotiation. My own family runs cows over many townships of federal land and works with these things continually. Damaging the water works with cows still on the land would itself be a felony.

Guess I need to see pics of damage before I buy into the fedz getting that stupid. It’s possible the water works might be federally owned. That would make any damage double stoopid so let’s wait for actual evidence.

Not likely, there were many calves that were probably separated from their mothers and the cattle were being spooked every which way via the helicopters........

I'm sure there's been a lot of deaths of both adults and calves. I hope Bundy is compensated for his losses......

I heard the rancher say he owns the water rights to that land for another several years. Don’t know how that works, but he said he is the owner now.

We had one of those city-slick enviropricks buy himself a ranchette out in the Strawberry Mtns a few years back, adjacent to an actual cattle ranch. A dozen of the ranch cows broke a fence and got into the Doc’s pasture, no harm done, and he decided the cure was to shoot them all. He lost all 20 of his fancy gun collection and got five years in the state pen, and a quarter million dollar fine. I think he even lost his doctor card. All in the course of learning the Code of the West.
