We're getting reports that the cell towers have been shut down in the area of the Cliven Bundy Ranch. We need your help in confirming these reports as we cannot reach our correspondents on the scene. Please leave your comments below if you are able to verify these claims.

I fear the real reason for shutting down the phone towers (IF true) is to kill all the smart phones equipped with camera/video capability. I sure hope some folks have brought along video cams that do NOT rely on phone service. Also, whatever happens will go down at night so it can't be recorded easily, plus the fedcoats have NVGs.

Zer0 could care less about the real terrorists. All his concern was what the NSA could learn from Americans’ cell phone conversations, internet browsing histories, and emails. This Bundy Ranch siege should shut down Pinky Reid and the Democrat Party. Can you imagine they had 82 BLM vehicles full of their people to harass ranchers. They can spend money to harass American citizens but would rather kill tortoises because they can’t afford to feed them.

More than likely - local jamming on the downlink side ‘control’ or setup channel was taking place in the vicinity of the ranch, as is customary when ‘they’ don’t want the PSTN accessible by a subject who they have ‘cornered’.
One of the local cell providers indicated nothing had been done by them, and no ‘alarms’ were showing in the system.
Jamming the local control channel would show *no* alarms either, as that is an xmit function at the cell site and off-the-air signals are *not* monitored except by the public and subscribers ...
