The Bureau of Land Management, whose Director was Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) former senior adviser, has purged documents from its web site stating that the agency wants Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s cattle off of the land his family has worked for over 140 years in order to make way for solar panel power stations.
Corrupt Democratic Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) working with the Chinese gov’t to take land from hard-working Americans.
Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for posterity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts” directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts” solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities” on “public lands.”
“Non-Governmental Organizations have expressed concern that the regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone utilizes Gold Butte as the location for offsite mitigation for impacts from solar development, and that those restoration activities are not durable with the presence of trespass cattle,” the document states.

Here comes the sun
We hate to spoil the big party at the Clark County Government Center — Tuesday’s commission meeting was teeming with promises of jobs, clean energy and sizable investments in Southern Nevada — but something about the sale of 9,000 acres of public land to ENN Mojave Energy just doesn’t add up.
Why did commissioners give such a steep discount to a Chinese company promising to spend between $1 billion and $6 billion developing the site near Laughlin? Charging ENN Mojave Energy just $4.5 million — $500 an acre — when two appraisals valued the land at between $29.6 million and $38.6 million was awfully generous. Expecting fair market value for county land shouldn’t be too much when big shots are talking about billions of dollars worth of business, right?
In fact, the deal given to ENN Mojave Energy reflects the viability of the project. The company is getting a bargain because the chances that its giant solar-panel manufacturing plant, 500-megawatt solar power array and futuristic “eco-city” and research park will actually be built are quite slim.
Green energy just doesn’t pencil out — even with massive taxpayer subsidies.
For starters, ENN Mojave Energy must find utilities willing to buy the solar power it plans to produce. That’s no sure thing. But assuming ENN Mojave Energy gets that far, its manufacturing plant would face some harsh market realities. Recall that California solar panel maker Solyndra shut down and went bankrupt this year despite collecting a $535 million loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy. If it weren’t for tax incentives for both buyers and manufacturers — not to mention heavy political pressure — the entire industry would collapse.
Commissioners point to the promise of jobs and economic development as reason to authorize the land giveaway. ENN Mojave Energy says the deal could create up to 2,900 construction jobs and more than 2,000 permanent jobs, although the terms of the land sale require $350 million worth of investment and the hiring of just 500 workers by 2016.
Job creation is a worthy goal. And the county clearly took steps to ensure ENN follows through on its promises and can’t flip the land at a profit, then disappear. But so much of Tuesday’s commission meeting was political kabuki that it’s hard to get excited at this point. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has been pulling strings behind the scenes. ENN hired former Nevada Gov. and U.S. Sen. Richard Bryan to handle Tuesday’s final sales pitch. And both sides openly pandered to unions with assurances that everything possible will be done to ensure Nevadans are hired into every job.
We certainly hope ENN Mojave Energy succeeds and becomes a valued member of the Southern Nevada business community. But any entity that needs huge amounts of political juice and almost free public land just to get off the starting block is far from a slam dunk.

Interesting thought. Usually i don't play the guessing game without more facts. But your statement is thought provoking. Maybe the message is to the Koch brother on and completely unrelated issue. Considering how they are living in Dingy's head rent free.
I prefer to think more simply. Dingy thinkin he may no longer be senate leader next year and trying to tie up all business ends now while he can.

But not before the government owned the land
The government paid 15 million for the land when it obtained it from Mexico. The government built roads, Hover dam, marinas, power distribution grids, docks ...
We the People bought that land and are now being for ed off it. There is no “private” entity called “government”. As such, it cannot exert a “private property” claim.
You lose again...
And the point that you are missing is that it is the Government’s land. They can do WHATEVER they want with their own property. If they want to build a rock garden, pave it over or build Noah’s arc, it’s the governments land. There is no right of any one person to that land. Congress can enact any legislation to purpose that land how they want. Be it the six legged jack-a-lope or power plant.

Sorry, you are incorrect. The constitution says that Congress shall have exclusive legislative authority of that land. Congress represents the will of The People.
Of course it’s the government’s land and they have enacted laws governing the use of the land, the water rights, and the grazing rights. The laws that they enacted were designed to permit open grazing on public land as a compromise for maintaining federal title to the land. Had they not done so, the Congress would have held auctions or lotteries on the land as they did for lands in the Eastern U.S.
Now the federal government has decided that they don’t want any ranching on public lands, but they haven’t changed the laws that give citizens the right to graze on the land. They have enacted other laws regarding the protection of endangered species on both public and private lands. Those laws are frequently in conflict, but more importantly, those laws are often twisted to favor the politically powerful. This is how Harry Reid has amassed both a fortune and an enormous power base.
This is not about land, it’s about political power.
And, you’ve been shown the error of your assumption, by more folks than just me...

If you read the BLM documents that are available on FR (But no longer the BLM website, they’ve been pulled), you will see that the BLM plan uses Bundy’s grazing allotment to mitigate the danger to the Desert Tortoise caused by the solar farm construction and operation.
But, that’s all a ploy. Cattle and the Desert Tortoise are actually symbiotic and coexist advantageously to both so long as the land is not overgrazed. That is demonstrably not true with solar farms which have been shown to be quite deadly to the little desert critters.
The Las Vegas political mob wants to put an end to ranching and score their corrupt dollars through solar farms and they will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
You are watching what has been going on in Nevada and other places in the West for years. Betcha didn’t see that on 60 Minutes.
