BOMBSHELL REPORT: Sen. Harry Reid Behind BLM Land Grab of Bundy Ranch (freerepublic credited)

The Bureau of Land Management, whose Director was Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-Nev.) former senior adviser, has purged documents from its web site stating that the agency wants Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s cattle off of the land his family has worked for over 140 years in order to make way for solar panel power stations.

Corrupt Democratic Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) working with the Chinese gov’t to take land from hard-working Americans.

Deleted from BLM.gov but reposted for posterity by the Free Republic, the BLM document entitled “Cattle Trespass Impacts” directly states that Bundy’s cattle “impacts” solar development, more specifically the construction of “utility-scale solar power generation facilities” on “public lands.”

“Non-Governmental Organizations have expressed concern that the regional mitigation strategy for the Dry Lake Solar Energy Zone utilizes Gold Butte as the location for offsite mitigation for impacts from solar development, and that those restoration activities are not durable with the presence of trespass cattle,” the document states.

I lived in Las Vegas for 45 yrs before relocating to the south. This isn’t anything new for ole Harry, he’s as corrupt as they come. It isn’t his first land deal in Nevada, but he is slick and his deals are usually under someone else’s name. I could tell you stories of Harry’s shady deal, but don’t dare to reveal names, etc. He’s also a vengeful and utterly vicious man.

Same legal arguments as before:

US Government owns the land in question
US Government can decide what to do with that land
If the US Government thinks a solar farm or tortoise ranch or rock garden is better use for that land, they can decide what to do with that land.
When Bundy stopped paying the grazing fees, he lost his right to access and graze on someone else’s land
For the past 20 years or so, Bundy has been freeloading off of the public lands without paying the fees that are legally required to use that land.

A senator or congressman cannot be impeached. He can be expelled from his House of Congress by two-thirds of that House’s members.

True. The prospects for expulsion are slim and none. Even if the GOP runs the table this November and flips all 21 dem Senate seats up in 2014, they would still be one vote short of the 67 votes necessary to expel Reid (and that assumes no GOP Senator votes no - not a sure thing in a GOP senatorial delegation populated by the likes of McCain and Graham. And I don't think anyone in their wildest fantasies is projecting a GOP Senate sweep in November.

We can always dream, I guess. Let's see: The pubbies run the table and Maine's Angus King goes with the GOP (that has been rumored). That's 67 - impeachment territory.

Did you read the statement from his daughter? He stopped paying the grazing fees because he was not happy with how the BLM was spending the money. He then has been in court trying to pay the fees to Nevada, not the BLM.

No I totally agree with him being upset about the BLM. But he doesn’t own the land, and stopped paying the fees. He has been grazing on federal lands for free for twenty years.

In short he is a martyr trying to climb on a cross of his own making. What I want to know is how he was able to get away with it for twenty years. The BLM goes after the cattle typically in thirty days on non payment

"The origin of all civil government, justly established, must be a voluntary compact, between the rulers and the ruled; and must be liable to such limitations, as are necessary for the security of the absolute rights of the latter; for what original title can any man or set of men have, to govern others, except their own consent?

To usurp dominion over a people, in their own despite, or to grasp at a more extensive power than they are willing to entrust, is to violate that law of nature, which gives every man a right to his personal liberty; and can, therefore, confer no obligation to obedience."

"That’s one way of saving them because once they are all dead they won’t be dying anymore."

That's a deep statement. Something to ponder.

He doesn’t own the land. The Fedgov does. You can’t buy the rights, you pay the fees. He has, by own admission not done so.

I have some experience with this, unfortunately. I feel for this gentleman, but it’s not his land and he has been grazing on it illegally for twenty years by his own admission. Range wars have literally been fought over less. If another gentleman had the rights, there would have been shots fired well before the Feds showed up.

I want to know why this is happening now, the way it is.

When they come for “your land”, I bet you’ll be singing another tune. By hook or by crook, it will happen if the Obama regime and it’s minions are not stomped down.

Crony capitalist rent seeking is the trademarked method of the Big government activist left. Which is exactly why big corporations donated for more money to Obama then they did to Republicans. If you have a choice between donating to a politician who says he will just leave you alone For a politician who will promise that he will use gubmint force to knee cap Your competition which would you choose?

One choice is nice the other choice is great. Ask the folks over at Solyndra.

.[Reid] and his oldest son, Rory, are both involved in an effort by a Chinese energy giant, ENN Energy Group, to build a $5 billion solar farm and panel manufacturing plant in the southern Nevada desert. Reid has been one of the project’s most prominent advocates, helping recruit the company during a 2011 trip to China and applying his political muscle on behalf of the project in Nevada

..“His son, a lawyer with a prominent Las Vegas firm that is representing ENN, helped it locate a 9,000-acre (3,600-hectare) desert site that it is buying well below appraised value from Clark County, where Rory Reid formerly chaired the county commission.” (Emphasis added.)

I thought oil drilling companies paid the government a few million dollars to drill for oil? It wouldn't surprise me if the companies had to grease Dirty Harry to get permission to drill. I would be surprised if they didn't pay a bribe.

"You can’t buy the rights, you pay the fees. He has, by own admission not done so

You make sound oh so simple. Its all black and white. No grey area here, heh?

Lets start with the the government TOOK the family's claim to the land, along with the water rights without compensation many years ago. Then there still is the small matter that it is a free range state. Of which has been argued in the courts many many years.

In other words, its not as simple as, "hey dude he aint payin his fees. He has no right or claim to the land." Government went 20 years without doing anything. Till ole Harry and son want to profit from the Chinese, then its ok to take the cattle off the land Nd shoot the family because they are not cooperating.

This is America?

And thats ok with you?

What if your landlord blocked your business or your driveway from making money to pay those rents?

This is what happened, they restricted his cow count. Moreover the contract was not signed with the BLM.

This called absolutist privileging powers.
