Nato has released satellite images of the Russian military buildup on Ukraine’s eastern border: a powerful concentration of fighter planes, helicopters, artillery, infantry and special forces which officials say could be ready to move with just 12 hours notice.

The images appear to undermine official suggestions from Moscow that there is nothing unusual about the troop movements, nor any reason to be alarmed.

Another report here.

Senior military officers of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization described Russian military forces deployed in more than 100 makeshift bases just across the border with Ukraine as being in a state of high readiness—able to move swiftly within hours of a command from the highest level.

Russian invasion? The last OSCE inspection of Russian border regions turned up nothing.

I guess we’ll just have to take NATO’s word for it that Russia stands poised to invade Ukraine at a moment’s notice.

Because the Russians wouldn't allow inspection. LOL

They were allowed in per Russia’s agreement with the West. Of course if NATO thinks this is offensive potential, it can request Russia to allow new inspections of its border regions.

They were not allowed to go where they wanted to go.

I’m just wondering why the Russians are able to put military on their borders while ours cant even carry water pistols on-base?

It really doesn't matter. To imagine John Wayne or Ronald Reagan doing anything other than what Hussein is doing, is just wishful thinking.

At no time since the end of WWII would we have gotten into a shooting match with the Soviets for invading the Ukraine.

Short of a direct attack on a NATO nation, or on our own assets, the US would never do anything in response to Russia or China. To think otherwise, is just fantasy.

NATO’s top military commander in Europe, drafting countermoves to the Russian military threat against Ukraine, said Wednesday they could include deployment of American troops to alliance member states in Eastern Europe now feeling at risk.

U.S. Air Force Gen. Philip Breedlove told The Associated Press he wouldn’t “write off involvement by any nation, to include the United States.”

And to think that the Russians who might be amassing or whatever might actually protect the protesting babushkas in Donetsk. (yes, I know all of the probestors aren't babushkas).

Meanwhile, back in the former great USofA the BLM is forcibly removing a cattle rancher from ancestral land. And nobody in state or local government has the guts to send in protection for the family.

So?

When the Inter-Allied Rhineland High Commission (American, Belgian, British and French forces) abandoned the Watch on the Rhine in the 1930’s, nothing was going on that should alarm anybody. Didn’t Neville Chamberlain come back with a treaty guaranteeing “peace in our time”?

That went really well.

Reagan would be doing something.

Reagan was not a libertarian on foreign policy like Obama is.

Reagan was extremely aggressive and confrontational against the Soviet Union, on an international scale, even in Europe he confronted the full force of the international left when he installed the mid range missiles and built up 435,000 American troops on Soviet borders.

Reagan would be looking to restrain this KGB leader of Russian.

Just how do people think Russia would respond to the Obama/Soros/sodomite EU overthrow of their most important neighbor and strategic ally? Do think they would go into a corner and sulk or perhaps send a congratulatory fruit basket?

You’re right. It figures completely that Putin will mount an invasion. Ukraine has it coming if they think they can break free from Putin, right?

Hey now, Putin is just misunderstood . . . he only has the best interest of Ukraine at heart.

Sodomites? So Ukraine deserves to be invaded because of Soros and sodomy? What row do you sit in at the Westboro Baptist Church, front?

I noticed that on another thread today Mr. Monty Fister forgot to insert the word sodomite in his comment.
