Israeli Settlement Plan Derailed Peace Talks, Kerry Says
NYT ^ | 4/8/14 | MARK LANDLER

WASHINGTON — Secretary of State John Kerry said Tuesday that Israel’s announcement of 700 new apartments for Jewish settlers in East Jerusalem precipitated the bitter impasse in peace negotiations last week between Israel and the Palestinians.

While Mr. Kerry said both sides bore responsibility for “unhelpful” actions, he noted that the publication of tenders for housing units came four days after a deadline passed for Israel to release Palestinian prisoners and complicated Israel’s own deliberations over whether to extend the talks.

“Poof, that was sort of the moment,” Mr. Kerry said in testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Still, Mr. Kerry said that the Israelis and Palestinians were still talking, with the United States acting as a broker, and that if the two sides could get past the dispute over the prisoner release, they could return to substantive negotiations for a peace accord. Israel is the only country that’s not allowed to build in it’s own Capitol city

It is plain that the Muslims do not want peace with Israel. All they want is to destroy the Jews. Why can’t the US figure that out? Oh wait, I remember now....the US President by his own words will come down on the side of the Muslims.

All of Jerusalem is Israeli sovereign territory. No sovereign nation will voluntarily "negotiate" any part of here sovereign territory. The West Bank and Gaza strip arabs walked away from their claim in 1949; they attempted three times so far and failed to wipe out Israel by force.

Historically, Israel, in all of human history, has been patiently tolerant of an implacable foe bent on its destruction. The is no better example of unjustified patience.

Time for the fake "Palestinians" to return to where they came from.

Seriously, the use of the word “settlements” makes them sound like they are built in neighboring countries, and Israel is trying to annex the land.

In this country the exact same thing is called a sub division, and houses or apartments are what are built there, not forts or military bases.

Why is it the US doesn’t not recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel? Israel designated Jerusalem as its capital in 1950. Should Israel only recognize Philadelphia as the capital of the USA?

The socalled Palestinians rejected making peace with the Jewish state and publicly announced any deal could only last ten years, during which time they planned to further arm themselves for their final and complete victory over Israel (Mohammed did similar fake peace deals, these savages are just following g their satanic leader’s example is all). And Kerry somehow imagines his failure is all the joooo’s fault. All this does is clarify again the amazingly blind anti-jew ( and anti-Christian) prejudice of the current regime in washDC. They’ve dragged America right down into the sewer.

Of course it's Israel's fault. The palestinians refusal to recognize the existence of Israel as a Jewish State (per resolution 181) or the Jewish Homeland per the British Mandate, don't count. Nor does the fact that the palestinian "government" controls only about 2/3 of their population, and is 4-5 years overdue on free elections. The tenders were for construction in Gilo, I believe part of Ma'ale Adumim (a border area as far back as the Book of Joshua), though may be administered by Gush Etzion. In any event, areas that have been considered to be part of any land swap. Of course those ideas were rejected by Arafat in 2000, and Abbas in 2008, so land swaps don't count either in the administrations mind. If Syria and Egypt need free elections, why doesn't the new Arab state?

What a LYING SACK OF S***!!!

The “deadline” was moot because the Koranimals did this:

The fraudulence and sheer deceit of the US and PLO in this matter is stunning. Construction is less than normal replacement and much less than typical growth for a neighborhood anywhere in the civilized world. None of the construction is taking place outside traditional Jewish communities. If US leadership were not duplicitous cowards they would stare down the PLO and obligate them to negotiate in good faith. Jewish restraint has been heroic.
