Test Bone Density test are done every 2 yrs per Medicare and Tricare Life. Men’s PSA are also every 2 yrs, even when both test show up bad on the first 1. Medicare and Tricare Life have limited or eliminated many test, MANDATED, certain test are being MANDATED in the name of healthcare, even if you don’t want them.

In 30 yrs on Synthroid, I never was told it caused OP, I should have been on prevention 30 yrs ago. When the GYN did my hysterectomy not 1 word about needing Cal or D, much less all the other factors bones are made of; when the estrogen’s started the GERD/IBS, all they did was stick me on acid blocker of the day. After 9 months of horrid bowel shut down pain and reflux that over rode the acid blocker I stopped all HRT. Still no warning, no warning when they went to Nexium, that is a bone density causer too. Along with Barret’s Esophagus.
Medicine to treat a hypothyroid issues should not cause OP. The drugs for OP are pure POISON! If that is not a death panel 1 pill or drug at a time I don’t know what is. And they don’t like to take NO for an answer. At my private pharmacy I can refuse unexpected drugs I’ve said NO to.
Prevention 30 yrs ago, would have slowed or stopped the OP.
