GOP donors reportedly working to draft Jeb Bush for 2016 presidential run (NO!!!!)

A group of top Republican donors have reportedly begun an intense effort to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the race for the GOP presidential nomination in 2016.

A Washington Post report quotes one major donor as saying that the "vast majority" of the top 100 givers to 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney would back Bush in a nomination fight.

The report also claims that a hard press has begun to get Bush into the race because conservative leaders and longtime Republican operatives are concerned about the electoral viability of New Jersey governor Chris Christie and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul. Christie's standing and poll numbers, both nationally and among Republicans, have been damaged by the ongoing investigation into whether he knew of access lane closures to the George Washington Bridge ordered by his staff as apparent political retaliation.

Earlier this week, Bush met privately with casino magnate and GOP donor Sheldon Adelson and addressed the Republican Jewish Coalition's senior members at a dinner held Thursday at Adelson's company airport hangar. The Post, citing a donor in attendance at the dinner, reported that the crowd of about 60 guests applauded when one told Bush, "I hope you run for President in 2016."

the "operative" here is most likely Karl Rove, but it's pure guano to say that "conservative" leaders are pushing Jeb Bush to be president.

In other news, GOP and RNC plan to hand governance completely to the democrat party as “that’ll show those uppity conservatives!”

Having money doesn’t mean one has political smarts.

Clearly most of the big money donors haven’t learned a thing about nominating mushes.

Of course they are. They never learn. I doubt it will happen but if it does, we will lose again.

the ‘big money donors’ will make big money no matter who wins, so their motivation and reason for their ‘investments’ must be something other than just winning.....something to think about.

Jeb would be just as strong a candidate as McCain and Romney. Why wouldn’t the GOP insiders want him?

TERRI. SCHIAVO.

NO!!! to the murderer of Terri Schiavo.

Jeb Bush was GOVERNOR. It was his duty to intervene and save Terri from murder. He was too cowardly to do his duty.

If he’s the nominee, I’ll just have to sit this one out.

Not unless they are using “conservative” in the sense that, as the Soviet Union was dissolving, the hard-core Stalinists in the Kremlim were suddenly the “conservatives.”

They hate the conservatives.

Who else are they going to run but Jeb? Christie is out. He’s cleared of the bridge deal by his friends. That’s not going to work, as if Christie could ever do well out of the Boardwalk Empire. The Romney Balloon went down so fast it was like the Wizard of Oz at the control.

Graham? McCuockoo? Ryan amnesty, take money for the crippled war vets?

They’ve got no one. Theyre going to dump money on someone, anyone. This is the Chamber of Amnesty commerce, and whoever else theyre working for.

Sheldon Adelson and the RJC essentially means the amnesty lobby and Wall Street money.

These are not people who are conservatives or who know anything about conservatives. They probably think that Jeb will win because GW did.

I know, right!
I heard some billionaire on Cavuto praising Obama and I think obamacare and immediately stopped taking him seriously. If only Republican politicians would embrace being wary of big money donors advice too.

could be, but nevertheless, to both Republican-elitists or Democrat-statists the term “conservative” is a perjorative.

Walker is in my opinion the only one on a national level. I know the love for Cruz or Paul but as of today neither will do more than excite the base. Walker can bring in the middle and lead us to a huge sweep.
