"In the end, the Ukrainian resolution declaring Crimea's vote on March 16 in favor of seceding from Ukraine as having "no validity" passed with 100 votes in favor, 11 against and 58 abstentions. Another 24 U.N. member states did not cast votes."

That's an interesting vote tally. Most of the abstentions probably lacked any interest in the matter. Some probably had other, tough, third world chores to catch up on.

Several of these states are third world countries that rely on US aid. The fact that they abstained is a message that the influence of America is in terminal decline. Israel did not vote.
