Who do you believe? Pope and President disagree about what was discussed in their meeting

Hmm, whom are we going to believe? The occupant of the Throne of St. Peter or the current laureate in Politifact’s “Lie of the Year” award?

Here is CNN’s reporting of the clashing accounts given by President Obama and Pope Francis of their conversation Thursday:

The two men greeted each other with a smile and a handshake and posed for pictures before sitting down across a table from each other. They spoke privately for nearly an hour.

When they emerged from the meeting, the President and the Vatican had slightly different takes on the tenor of their discussions, especially when it came to issues that have frayed the relationship between the Obama administration and American Catholic leaders.

"... (I)t was hoped that, in areas of conflict, there would be respect for humanitarian and international law and a negotiated solution between the parties involved," the Vatican said in a statement. "In the context of bilateral relations and cooperation between Church and State, there was a discussion on questions of particular relevance for the Church in that country, such as the exercise of the rights to religious freedom, life and conscientious objection. ..."

I like MY [salvation] plan, and He’s keeping me.

Right. If any anything this Pope has come under attack for speaking his mind and not holding back or using much disipline in what he says. So we know he is brutually honest. I am not sure Obama has ever said anything that was honest. Everything he says is a lie.

Obama is like the fisherman’s wife. In case you don’t know or remember that story, the fisherman catches a fish and the fish talks and says he’s an enchanted prince. The fisherman gladly returns him to the sea. he goes home to his humble little shack and tells his wife. She’s furious with him and makes him go back tell the fish that he wants a wish. The fisherman who is content with his lot doesn’t know what to wish for. His wife says for a nice clean cottage. He goes, wishes and comes home to a nice clean cottage. Wife is not content and keeps wishing for more and more - she wants to be king, then emperor, then Pope (finally she wants to be God which gets her dumped back in her humble shack) but let’s talk about Pope. O’s statement about the Pope having more protocol than he does shows that he’s like the fisherman’s wife. He’s jealous of the Pope. Wow. He already thinks he’s the emperor and now he wants to be Pope. I’m sure that he heard what he said and thought that was what the conversation was about and that was the end of it. I loved Krauthammer’s analysis. If you haven’t heard it, it is probably now on youtube.

I can just imagine Obama talking to the Pope - “Francis, you need to endorse the gay lifestyle. If necessary, I can write you an executive order to back you up.”
