As seen on Special Report with Bret Baier

Bret Baier got a behind-the-scenes look at the National Security Operations Center in the second part of an exclusive interview with outgoing NSA Director Gen. Keith Alexander.

Howie Larrabee, NSA National Security Operations Center director, said the center has been staffed every day for 40 years. He said it’s the place where the NSA responds to unfolding world events.

“You can think of us as the emergency room in a hospital, where we triage and assess a situation, and we direct the immediate time-sensitive response of that cryptologic enterprise,” Larrabee said.

the emergency room in a hospital

Except that our ambulances go around town deliberately striking innocent pedestrians.

Oh! And we don't treat patients and we're SUPER expensive.

And we hate people, and stuff.

Oo! Oo! Pick me! I know the answer to that one! “No comment.”

Despite your horrible wish for thousands of Americans to die because you feel - somehow - your putative ‘privacy’ has been violated, the Utah ops center will pick up the slack.

You obviously never dealt with the East German Stasi, or the Russian KGB; NSA is as far as one can get from them.

Stalked by the former, shadowed by the KGB, worked for the later.

You are so very mistaken in what NSA does, I'm speechless. Worse, you would wish to aid all those forces which seek to kill Americans - that includes you BTW - by cheering the deaths of thousands by a nuclear weapon.

Just to say NSA has likely saved your life (and definitely all our lives) many times.

My moniker isn’t just for show. I know what intel agencies do. Former top secret with additional SCI clearances.

Low clearance level, eh? And from that you only have a very vague and distorted image, no matter what it was you may or may not have done.

That's one of the pit falls of security: often low level guys like you were have no idea what is really going on, and so imagine from some briefing that you actually know, when in fact, you were not cleared to know more than the internal cover story and your assignment.

We would not be here, if the traitor, Snowden, had not stolen what he did - which was much more that an overview of some of NSA’s operations (the reports revealed in the media) - what he took and gave to the Russians and Chinese were NSA’s Methods and Means complete with names and so forth; including reams on mil ops M&M.

Some operators will die because of him, but the public will never know their names.

G-d help us if he also got the crypto stuff, which many fear he did.

Potentially and because of the traitor, all mil cyphers have now been cracked by the Russians and Chinese - so our guys will be talking in the clear as far as the above parties are concerned. Like shooting chickens in a cage.

And you want to see NSA Fort Meade nuked ...

you sound like the jack nicholson colonel. any means necessary, right? fisa courts. coercing phone companies to access their systems in the little special rooms nobody else can get into. getting around spying laws by handing over foreign call info to the uk and the uk hands back outgoing call info to us, thereby technically not looking at the calls themselves.

you know nothing about me or my background. go pound it. you can be the blind naive cheerleader for lawbreakers under the guise of “patriotism” - as many have tried that one before - that have no problem intercepting any computer you buy and putting hooks into it to trace what you’re doing, but I’m not going to celebrate them for undermining the Constitution at the sake of “national security”.

and save your insults for someone who actually may be hurt by them. didn’t impress me at all.
