Chinese plane lands at wrong airport in Australia
The first Chinese plane heading to Australia to join the hunt for a missing Malaysia Airlines jet landed at the wrong airport on Saturday, underscoring the difficulties facing the increasingly complex multinational search effort.
The Chinese IL-76 military aircraft made an unexpected stop at Perth International Airport before heading to its correct destination at RAAF Base Pearce outside Perth, where search and rescue operations for Flight MH370, which has been missing for two weeks, are now being coordinated.

Also Perth Intl runways are 06-24 and 03-21 and RAAF Base Pearce is 05-23 and 36-18.
Close but no cigar
It’s hard to navigate, when you fly south over the equator. If you don’t remember to roll the plane over, as you cross the equator, everything goes out of whack. Even if you do the roll; you have to keep reminding yourself that west is on your right as you fly south. That can be real confusing for pilots used to flying north.
I hear it’s even worse now with the Climate Change stuff and all that.

Umm, not sure I got it. Why don’t you spell it out for me.

That was speedy. Ok, I asked, but I’m guessing you’re being less than candid. But, nevertheless, i don’t consider the Chinese my enemy - yet. And, I don’t underestimate them, Just stating a fact. Their military is structured as a defensive force. However, I will acknowledge that they’re in the process of changing in their quest to be considered a world power to be reckoned with they must have the ability to project power. But, they’ve got a long way to go before they get there for sure. There’s no railroad tracks to follow out in the Indian Ocean :)
I understand that maps in China that are written in Mandarin actually designate Australia as “New China”.

That reminds me of the story I heard years ago about a guy getting on a plane that he thought was going to Oakland, and it took him to Auckland, New Zealand.
Kind of like the Asiana landing at San Francisco last year. The pilot’s name was wie-too-lo

Three or four years a Brazilian bull rider (lots of them now) was flying commercial to the Bossier City Invitational event (near Shreveport).
After he got off his third or fourth connection he discovered he was in Boise, ID. He missed the event. The PBR TV guys had a lot of fun with that one.
