Obama is not a dictator, but there is a danger in his aggregation of executive power.

Recently, a bizarre scene unfolded on the floor of the House of Representatives that would have shocked the framers of the Constitution. In his State of the Union address, President Obama announced that he had decided to go it alone in areas where Congress refused to act to his satisfaction. In a system of shared powers, one would expect an outcry or at least stony silence when a president promised to circumvent the legislative branch. Instead, many senators and representatives erupted in rapturous applause; they seemed delighted at the notion of a president assuming unprecedented and unchecked powers at their expense.

Last week, Obama underlined what this means for our system: The administration unilaterally increased the transition time for individuals to obtain the level of insurance mandated by the Affordable Care Act. There is no statutory authority for the change — simply the raw assertion of executive power.

The United States is at a constitutional tipping point: The rise of an uber presidency unchecked by the other two branches.

This massive shift of authority threatens the stability and functionality of our tripartite system of checks and balances. To be sure, it did not begin with the Obama administration. The trend has existed for decades, and President George W. Bush showed equal contempt for the separation of powers. However, it has accelerated at an alarming rate under Obama. Of perhaps greater concern is the fact that the other two branches appear passive, if not inert, in the face of expanding executive power...

If the birdcage liner, LA Times, has to deny that Obama’s a dictator, then he’s a dictator.

With three more years to go before he figures out a way to declare martial law and suspend elections.

Don't criminal psychologists document that pathological behavior is displayed in increments?

First, the psychopath maims a dog, then strangles a kitten....

First, the tyrant announces that he's bypassing congress, just to see if anyone notices or tries to stop him, then he rewrites laws to his own satisfaction, or announces that he's only enforcing the laws that are to his liking....

Turley the Timid

I like that.

On Jan 20, 2017 0bama will leave the office of the presidency, vertically or horizontally, his choice.

Why? At least 80 million armed Americans.

I have mention Turley’s recent articles and interviews on this subject to libs that I know, and it invariably leaves them with the patented Obamabot deer-in-the-headlights stare.

Turley is a tool, believing his own propaganda.
No Bush fan here but to suggest Bush was equal is nothing short of laughable. The press would have NEVER let him get away with anything close to what this tin- horn anti-American piece of work does on a daily basis.

" an uber presidency unchecked by the other two branches."

"Progressives"/"Liberals" (whatever the newspeak du jour) would like nothing better.

A brutal totalitarian government is their dream--1984 their ambition.

The only way to stop this is for the house to put the country above their perks and stop all spending and shut down the government.

If a person acts, smells and conducts himself as a dictator, he is a dictator that won’t admit being a dictator, Mr. Turley.

You are smart enough to know that.

I really believe that what we are starting to see here is the beginning of those in the Press who KNOW what he has done to RULE outside the Constitution was wrong and NOW they are rapidly being faced with the plain fact that this power will now be wielded by their hated opponents.

I believe they also KNOW it was wrong to blindly support the fantasy Rule of 0bama but they couldn’t help themselves.

Now they see the rapidly approaching anger from the electorate to reject and eject their vengeful Progressive failure and know it will be replaced with a Conservative (Cruz, or Paul) and they are now going to drive the drumbeat to turn back those powers, to avoid them being used ON THEM.

Common sense should dictate that the main reason you don’t go “scorched earth” is that you fear it will be done on you...until now. He’s jumped the shark and there’s now going back.

At some point the Press will not know what to do because they will not allow 0bama’s impeachment but they will not permit a Republican to hold the powers 0bama exercises.

With 0bama’s ratings at the mid 30’s I think we are going to see more and more hostility towards Obama’s power grab.

The Press is about to enter an eating frenzy as they go about the task of eating themselves and its going to get real ugly in a year or so.
