If a person’s E-1 visa is terminated, the person would need to leave the United States immediately because the E-1 does not have a grace period and the person would not have any legal authority to remain in the United States.
Finally, if the person previously had a valid B1/B2 multiple entry visa, this visa could be revoked based upon even one day of unlawful presence so if the person has advance notice of the E-1 being terminated and has a valid B1/B2 visa, it may be a good idea for the person to go ahead and leave the United States if practical.
