We've heard this meme before. Younger people are usually more liberal, or at least they don't think of themselves as being conservatives. But, once they get out in the real world, a good number of them will change their tune. But, there has to be a party that provides an alternative, and right now, the GOP isn't doing that.

I recall other recent polls where the young are also more pro life in addition to not caring about Gay Marriage. So it is mixed fairly Libertarian POV.
Obamacare and the current job market will change the POV of many young people.
Cruz or Paul are in the best position to help the young libs mature into conservative/libertarian adults.

The young are more susceptible to indoctrination is the way I would explain this political shift.

Well, this was the liberal moment. What did they do with it?
You're only young once, and only the younger generation once.
These voters will get older and their enthusiasm will fade. A generation younger still, children of the Obama slump, will soon be entering the voter rolls.
The other side of the coin, though: as millennials abandon the Democrats, their social views are going to be more and more reflected in the GOP.

Not all boomers are left wing. Many of us served our country in time of war, came home and went to college on the G.I. Bill, raised a family, paid our taxes, obeyed the laws and voted Republican.

This means you HAVE to burn the Republican, no matter HOW awful they think their democrat candidate is. Careful -- some of those technologically-adept barbarians would like to take you literally. Think, Nigerian churches.

Winston Churchill nailed it “When you’re young and not liberal, you haven’t got a heart. When you’re older and not conservative, you haven’t got a brain.
