Now that the judge has said her parents don’t have to pay for her current living and schooling, she has taken to FaceBook to solicit money from complete strangers, saying she only wants it for education. Ha! She actually even phrased her request as a “demand for her education”. Somehow requesting money from people and using the word “demand” in it makes me ill. I wonder how many people will shovel money her way.
They have two other daughters. No idea of the ages though.
She has 2 sisters.
The story continues....
Liberal family? The father is a former police chief.
He identified himself as a liberal.
Imagine the guy who ends up married to this girl.
Truthfully, I do not know. Just something I noticed from a prev post.
If not a lib family, I cheerfully withdraw the comment (but not the general analyses of kids from liberal families based on observations)
.
2. It involves “Age of Majority” issues. So many different ages seem to apply, 18 - old enough to do most things without parental consent. No need for emancipation. Old enough to enlist or be drafted in the military. Old enough to be tried as an adult. 21 - old enough to buy alcohol and cigarettes. 26 - “Kids” up to 26 can be included on parent's Obamacare policy.
3. “Parental Authority” - to what degree can parents establish rules, including respectful behavior, chores, curfews, etc., and when do those parental rights terminate?
4. “Parental Obligation to Support” - which ties into No. 2 above - at what age does this obligation end?
5. “Mandatory College Support” - this is a married couple. What rights do they have over college choice and support, considering unwed or divorced parents have no say and must pay.
6. “Good Samaritan” - if there is an obligation to support is there a concomitant obligation for the friend's father (who is funding the suit) to have sought permission to allow the girl to live with him?
Also of note:
A. Friend's father is a county Freeholder who supports the idea of parents supporting the child in college; because as he says, the parents put away college funds for the child and she should be “entitled” to it.
Sean Canning said that a DCP&P representative visited his home for about three hours last fall, found nothing amiss, determined that Rachel was spoiled and discontinued the investigation. He said that he and his wife are beside themselves that discord with their daughter has reached this level.
B. Girl has history of mental problems, is on meds, and doesn't take her meds when she's supposed to.
Parent's attorney Rush-Masuret and Sean Canning said that Rachel was seeing a therapist long before moving out and is supposed to take medication. The parents contend she had disciplinary problems at school last term, was suspended twice, ignored her curfew at home and bullied her younger sister.
The more I read about this girl, the more I think she’s giving spoiled brats a bad name. Looks like they had tried counseling of some sort for a while, but she is extraordinarily stubborn. I feel for her parents and her younger sisters.
I would hit it, too, but only with an open hand. I've known more than a few Rachels in my life. Snotty little bi+ches whose poo doesn't have an unpleasant fragrance. She's the girl that the Kinks sang about, the one whose date wound up, "spending all his paycheck for the week, for just a cuddle and a peck on the cheek." She's gonna make some poor fool miserable, just wait.
