But I know that many ardent defenders of the Constitution have supported laws regulating drug use.Can you name them, and provide the references to demonstrate that they are indeed "ardent defenders of the Constitution"?
You yourself claim to support defending and complying with the original intent, but that's an easy claim to make. You don't seem much interested in actually finding out what the original intent was, and reject it when it's shown to you.

The Preamble is not the law. The Articles of the Constitution is the law.I know. Along with the Amendments.

Look it up for yourself. Go back to the Senate/HOR votes and see who voted for prohibitions on pot use. I'm certain you'll find many supporters of original intent.
Look, pot use is illegal. The Congress has passed the laws, the courts have upheld them; get used to it. Go on to something else.

Look it up for yourself. Don't put it on me to provide the evidence to back up your claims.
The Congress has passed the laws, the courts have upheld them; get used to it. Go on to something else.
You sound exactly like Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi talking about Obamacare. Eff that.

So what? Polls mean nothing. If you think the Congress will support legalization of pot, bring the measure up. If not, then forget it until another day.
Pot just isn't worth it.

Get your head out of the sand, Mr. Wickard. States are telling fedgov to go to blazes. National marijuana prohibition is dead and there's nothing you can do about it. This is from Walter William, July 2013 =>
The heartening news for us is that state legislatures are beginning to awaken to their duty to protect their citizens from unconstitutional acts by the Congress, the White House and a derelict Supreme Court.
According to an Associated Press story, about four-fifths of the states now have local laws that reject or ignore federal laws on marijuana use, gun control, health insurance requirements and identification standards for driver's licenses.

Your flogging a dead horse. None of this matters until Congress acts. No state can protect citizens from actions by the federal government. This issue was settled in 1865.

Fedgov policy is irrelevant. In addition to outright legalization in CO and WA, some 20 states and DC have thriving medical mj programs, and more are coming. Fedgov has not done squat about it through 3 administrations.
Business is booming!

Federal gov policy is paramount. Wait and see. Why would you want business to boom? Why would any honest, thinking person want to saddle the American people with another debilitating habit? What purpose is there in the spread of pot use? What is to be gained from it? Will it make us a stronger, better country? Who would want to tell their grandchildren that they facilitated the spread of a product that can only harm this country? How sick.
