Ted Cruz: Breitbart.com Symbolizes 'Fantastic Democratization' of News

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) has said the grassroots revolution sweeping across the country today mirrors the one that propelled Ronald Reagan to the White House, and the conservative stalwart said that Breitbart.com represents the democratization of the news that was once controlled by just a few elites in the legacy press.

Appearing on the inaugural edition of Breitbart News Saturday on Sirius XM Patriot channel 125, Cruz said that "what Breitbart does is so important" because it helps conservatives bypass those in the legacy media who once were the sole gatekeepers. Cruz was speaking to Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon--who, along with a rotation of Breitbart News editors and contributors, will host the weekly show from 10 AM to 1 PM EST.

"If we were still in the world of 30 years ago when there were three networks that decided what the news was, then nothing you and I are talking about would have made it through the filter," Cruz said. "But there has been a fantastic democratization of the news where we can go directly to the people."

Cruz also praised "American citizens who are becoming their own journalists" and spreading the word to their friends and neighbors.

"That's how we turn this country around," Cruz said before noting that citizen journalists give him "hope and optimism" for America's future.

As Breitbart News reported, the late Andrew Breitbart and Cruz bonded well before Cruz became a household name. Bannon told Cruz that Breitbart respected his fearlessness and said he was one of the rising stars that he most admired and supported before his tragic passing. Bannon said that the late Breitbart hated Washington politicians, and he saw in Cruz a kindred spirit who was an anti-establishment figure who wanted to reform the country's institutions.

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

BEWARE TEXANS!
Breitbart is busy trashing Stockman....why?

Did anyone notice Breitbarts new writers from TX in their restructuring? One is a lib in Darby...believes IA’s should be allowed to remain and work. He made a name for himself uncovering the atrocities of human smuggling and the sex-slave trade. The other is Bob Price former member of US Border Watch who went the way of working for the paymasters of the huge construction outfits. Price also wrote amnesty pushing over at GOPVote. It seems Breitbart made some changes favorable to the cheap labor status quo...hmmm...then they level attacks at Stockman. OK I get it..he must be the candidate that threatens the status quo.

SoCon, thought I had asked once to be on list... but may be wrong... ;^)

(I was still trying to see who was who with all of the newcomers. I was right in my intuition to wait it out...
too many had positive ideas about pretty much all of the newcomers (who were ‘TEA Party’ back then... but I held back.. and it has paid off..
I think out of all of the selections we had back then, only 1 stands out holding his ground... that would be Cruz.)
