Well he is an American Jew and they are the worst kind of anti-Semites or so I am told.

I have often suspected that myself.

I have noticed some content and language in posts that I found a little scary, but if you challenge them, they jump down your throat, accusing you of things. So I just stay away from certain threads and posters. Maybe I am hyper-sensitive. I have clicked on some of their profiles, and in many cases, they don’t have one.

And you also have to be on guard for people in here to prime the pump and make us look bad. I’m sure that happens.

Cohen was a Soviet shill for decades. He kind of faded away when the USSR fell apart, but the left has called him back to duty to attack America again and blame the USA for Putin’s crimes against other countries. He’s leftist scum, and his wife is the editor of the far left Nation magazine and a thoroughly nasty person in her own right.

Told by whom?

The fellow is a liberal. No conservative whether Jewish or not would go on like that.

I suspected that was the case. Him being a liberal that is.

Glenn Beck is starting to p!ss me off now also. I think he is so wanting to be accepted by the Libertarians he says things that are really stupid, i.e., "We need more free speech, not less." Just what the hell does that mean anyway, more pornification, more blasphemy, more fowl language? He must hold to the "pearl in the pigsty" argument, that if we have enough garbage out there, that a pearl of wisdom will pop out from the heap. I believe in ideas the same way I believe about money--the bad always drives out the good.

I usually verify Glenn Becks stories with other sources, because I know he has credibility issues. I have been disgusted with him in the past, but am starting to like him again. The other host in the time slot is Rush Limbaugh, and sometimes I’m not in the mood for that. Dennis Prager is the one I really like but the signal from Seattle is too weak to reach downtown Everett.
I used to be a libertarian, so am not bothered by that either.
Glenn Beck covered the Justina Pelletier story and as far as I know he was the first major host to do so.

Paul Craig Roberts, like Donald Lambro, when off the deep end years ago.

Savage has a PHD in crap. You’d think a guy with degrees in nutrition wouldn’t have the worse stomach ailments known to man. How do I know? 85% of his radio show is whining about something he ate.

Rush is best for an analysis of the current political situation. Prager gives you good answers from the standpoint of the left/right divide. If you want to know whats going on with radical Islam you have to listen to Rusty Humphries. Unfortunately, he is only on stations here that have weak signals late nite. If you are up working or you just have insomnia, Red Eye Radio and Bill Bennett are superb listening.

I believe in some libertarian ideas, like smaller government and lower taxes, but their insistence on carrying that principle to allowing homosexual marriage, legalizing drugs, and gutting the military causes me to run from them completely. Destroying something as fundamental as the family is only going to create more social problems, and legalizing drugs with a welfare state is a disaster. Gutting the military in the face of threats from the likes of Putin and the Islamic threat is insanity. BTW, the libertarian position on open borders is ridiculous, and I can't abide their pro-abortion stance. In fact, when you get down to it, I can't see where Libertarians are much different than Democrats or your average country-club RINO.

Sorry, Rusty Humphries is one of my least favorite hosts. But I haven’t heard him in years. Maybe he’s improved.

Some of the things you cited are reasons why I am no longer libertarian. I decided that they over-simplified a lot of military and foreign policy issues. The world is different than in the days of the founding fathers. Then I saw some of the military adventures that are being flirted with in this administration...
The issue that really got me in the end is involuntary commitment of mental patients. Libertarians are afraid of abuses and that’s certainly valid, but there has to be a better way of doing mental health than we do it, in WA especially. This is the real reason for a lot of murder rampages, while people continue to argue about guns. There are a lot of less dramatic assaults and things that don’t make national news. The mental health system can be a nightmare for families.
I also discovered what I considered to be some pretty extreme character issues in a lot of libertarian leaders, stuff that bordered on criminal, or even was criminal. Maybe I am short in the character dept. myself, but I try to do the right thing. These people LOVE to feud, for one thing and they learned from the best, one of their idols, Ayn Rand. She was notoriously bad at interpersonal relationships.
